In sweeter news, I really like the markings on today’s floofy kitteh! And those eyes are to die for!

I just took time out to re-write the Power of Attorney and my Will. The PoA didn’t need much more than full names, but the Will was shocking. I think I was not in a very good place when I wrote it!

I don’t like the format because it has line numberings, like a legal document, and was laid out so all pages could be seen at once, making individual page corrections almost impossible. I don’t know how to change that. Maybe I’ll do a Copy and Paste, a page at a time, and remove the line numbers. What a bother!

I was frothing, though I controlled the volume and the invective, because it’s Lent or something.

I told Patrick that he could either inform her of my specific comments and intense, or he could say, “Thanks for the suggestion. Daddy will help me something reliable this summer.”

I would just leave the line numbers in. As long as it’s legal, formatting details aren’t important.

I think my Favorite Invisible Person should be livid at the suggestion that his sister valued him so little that she would try to sell him something just because she couldn’t get anything for it anywhere else. What an insult!

I’m sure his Daddy will help him find something much better!

The good thing is, according to my Delightful D-i-L, neither document has to be filed with the state of Arkansas, but only notarized, unlike Nevada,

I finally found a box that my oval platter fits in, so in a bit, I will pack it up. I’m excited for the book boxes to come because then I’ll be able to decide how many of these extra boxes I have that can be chucked out.

My toaster oven isn’t baking the way it should, so it’s probably on the way to Toaster Oven Heaven. I keep trying to nurse it, but as it is, I depend on it for most everything I cook. It just takes longer and longer to cook something.

Pat will have about $6,000, which will buy him an okay little car.

I’m sure DP will help him find the perfect (for him) car. Drama Queen should realize she shouldn’t play poker with the pros. ;o]

“Pros” doesn’t include Pat, but hopefully he has filed a data point regarding who has his best interest at heart.

That’s what I meant but it didn’t quite come out the way I intended for it to. But then, some days are like that with me. One day, I’m sure the realization will strike Pat that Drama Queen is not necessarily his friend.

She has an instinct for trying to snooker people.

Back from getting Frank’s hair cut. I’ve sent him to the shower, but it wouldn’t surprise me to find he doesn’t get distracted and turns up the same dirty self hours from now.

Some people seem to have an aversion to being clean. However, we can only hope it changes when he reaches an age where girls begin to take an interest. Then you may have to set the time on Frank, as well!

We’ve been friends with an auto broker for years. He can get lease fleet turnovers at auction, this year’s model with under 25,000 miles on them, already “drive-off” depreciated.

He’s also found us a steady stream of reliable older cars in the $1500 - $5000 range. My wife’s ‘05 Buick LeSabre was $5000, and we got a new-to-us ‘98 Chevy Lumina LTZ for $1500 when we thought Old Blue (’97 Lumina LS) was about to keel over dead. Of course, after we bought its replacement, it has refused to die.

This guy focuses on a few models of GM cars that all share drivetrain components, gets them at salvage, rebuilds the (usually modestly) damaged front ends, and puts them back on the road for cheap. My wife did in the front end of an older Buick we had; because it’s in the line he works on, he bought the salvage title, took it into his shop, and he’s got that car about fully restored and ready to roll, again. He’ll probably sell it for $3000-$4000.

You find “that guy” in your area and you’ll always have reliable wheels, and you won’t crush your piggy bank getting them.

I have no idea how I would find “that guy,” but with $6000 and a steady job, Pat can do okay for himself.

Speaking of jobs, Tom says the Chipotle area manager or whatever, some corporate guy, didn’t want to talk to him about his wages, and suggested that even wanting to discuss it was a bad quality in an employee.

Tom is going to get his resume together and locate a more reasonable employer. It’s stupid for an employer who is already shorthanded to lose their best employee over $1.50/hour, but they’ll do it. Tom says he’ll go out with a bang, too, making sure everyone who works there knows exactly why he’s quitting and how much he’ll be earning at his next job.

Costco will hire him as a stocker. He drives a forklift.

I have “that guy” in AR, who sometimes doubles as my son. I’m looking forward to the move, since I’ve about worn out my welcome here.

No one should be so stinkin’ greedy that they can’t pay someone a living wage for an excellent job. I hope Tom is effective in helping others quit a dead-end job.

I suppose he was making a “living wage,” give or take a trip to Costco with his father and a steak dinner or two, but he knows he’s worth more, even by the strictest definition: he’ll find a better-paying job within a week or two, and then give notice at Chipotle.

A living wage is OK, if that’s what one can be satisfied with, but Tom doesn’t strike me as the kind of person who will be happy in a minimum wage job.

He’s wise enough to look beyond today.

He’s looking to get by until he graduates from college, probably in December. He said he’s going to visit the college career office: there’s always the chance of a part-time job that has something to do with geology or flooding, especially with summer - construction season - approaching.

Kitteh looks chocolate!

Good morning.

I was up almost an hour before the alarm went off but it’s been a paperwork morning, not to mention a shower and getting Sunday clothes ready. In other words, I have the S-l-o-w-s again. *sigh*

Then I realized my iHerb order was missing the tea, and had to go back and order it.

“Slow and steady wins the race,” as Aesop observed.

I’m working on paperwork as well. Some brothers have not yet been observed, but there’s no reason to believe they’re dead.
