(Shapiro) I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016. I am in 2020 — here's why.

Too bad Ben has TDS, his whining about Trump’s character is ludicrous. Because Trump doesn’t lie and tell you one thing while doing another , like most politicians, Ben doesn’t like him. Sad....

My vote for Trump was a vote against Hillary not for Trump. One of the ABC voters- Anybody But Clinton. They (you and I) were the difference.

Oops. Sorry. That was meant for the rally thread.
Oh, well... it’ll just give ol’ Ben something to fret about. :)

Shapiro thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room, anywhere. Except when he’s with Trump, he KNOWS he’s not; and it frosts his junk!

I think Trump has turned off a lot of older voters.....Far more older voters like him and will vote for him than the reverse. You have it backwards.

Little Ray,
Appreciate your honesty. My mother was born and raised in Brooklyn and was about 20 years older than “Mr. Trump”. She loved the guy. When he decided to run, I had to give him a good look and supported him from 2015. God bless him!

Ben was lucky in 2016. He lived in California, so his "vote" wouldn't have counted much anyway. He voted for neither Hillary nor Trump.
If he had lived in a swing state, he would have had to make a choice.
Better late than never, Ben. Better than the Never-Trumper you once were. Glad to see you fully on board now.

and i strongly suspect that there are even more like that, but who are keeping quiet about it ... Folks are afraid they're going to lose jobs, friendships, familial relations, or be physically assaulted. Can't say I blame them in the least.
Without revealing exactly what I do, it's a very conservative outfit, where you can't be fired, and most of us are pretty sure we're all on the same page, but factor in one wildcard person, and there's no discussion at all.

I think Trump has turned off a lot of older voters......and they vote. You raise an interesting point. It's a group that I don't have a huge sample size of, because although I may qualify for membership in the "older voters" group, I refuse to accept that fact.
I have had several definite older voters tell me, on the sly, that while "We don't like that Trump"... but "Who else are we going to vote for? The democrats are insane!"
This election will be the worst of anyone's lifetimes, wracked with scandal, obvious cheating, violence, all in all, a sub-Saharan type of affair.

I know quite a few people who didnt support Trump in 2016 whove come around and will now vote for him. On the other hand I dont know a single person that voted for him in 2016 who wont vote for him this time around.Same thing here.
My neighbor and his wife are converts because of what Trump has done for the economy, but she hates what he says.
I said to her, don't listen to him, just vote for him because of what he has done and will do.

I agree with Shapiro's three main points. 1) The Trump administration has governed pretty well, overall. 2) I don't like Trump's dumb tweets and offhand remarks, I don't like his narcissism and thin-skinnedness, but I value results over style. And 3) I always vote against Democrats.
I did vote for Trump in 2016, albeit while holding my nose. This time, I will vote for Trump with more confidence in what I'm getting.
