Folks are afraid they're going to lose jobs, friendships, familial relations, or be physically assaulted. Can't say I blame them in the least.

Without revealing exactly what I do, it's a very conservative outfit, where you can't be fired, and most of us are pretty sure we're all on the same page, but factor in one wildcard person, and there's no discussion at all.
