I’m not totally sure about this, but depending on how one has things set up, if one has both an Apple laptop and an iPhone hooked up to the cloud, videos taken on an iPhone may get dumped automatically to the laptop.

Yup. Default behavior of Apple iCloud service is automatic syncing of pictures or video shot on your phone to any associated device you own.
