It conveys the sense, but the 4 horses are each described by their color and it might be better to retain the visual rather than the olefactory sense of the of the passage.
Wiki states:
“In the text of Revelation, the main distinguishing feature of the four horses is their color; white for conquest, red for war, black for pestilence and/or famine, and pale (from ‘pallor’) for death.”
