Trump Slams Susan Collins For Opposing Amy Coney Barrett Vote Before Election

President Donald Trump slammed Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins for not being in favor of voting to confirm Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett until after Election Day.

In a tweet, Trump said he heard a “nasty rumor” that Collins will not be voting in favor of confirming Barrett. Collins said in September that she does not support voting to confirm a Supreme Court justice to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg until after the Nov. 3 elections.

“There is a nasty rumor out there that @SenatorCollins of Maine will not be supporting our great United States Supreme Court Nominee. Well, she didn’t support Healthcare or my opening up 5000 square miles of Ocean to Maine, so why should this be any different. Not worth the work!” Trump tweeted

The Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on Barrett’s confirmation Oct. 22.

I think 4 Dems crossed over for her in 2017.

Would you vote for Lou Barletta? I would.

Pat Toomey is a two-term U.S. Senator ... while Lou Barletta got his ass kicked last year in what will probably be the only chance he will ever get to run for statewide office in PA.

I rest my case.

As long as Schumer tells him it’s ok to vote yes.

Maybe she’s tired of being in politics? Because it certainly looks like she’s committing political suicide.

Wishy washy politicians don't tend to get the support they need to win races.

This might help her as it looks like she is standing up to Trump.

You’re in a dream world if you think Minchin will vote for ACB. Not gonna happen.

The party only supports those candidates they approve of, when a conservative is nominated they actually help the Democrat win.
It’s been done repeatedly in Senate races across the country.

Yeah, it’s weird that she voted for Kavanaugh, and will vote against Barrett. And she claims to be a supporter of women’s rights. If she was really that angry about the Garland thing, she should have voted against Gorsuch. But to carry the grudge for two years, and to act it out on Barrett is truly bizarre.

Collins is caught between a rock and a hard place between placating the Dem majority in Maine for votes or losing Republican backing for voting against Barrett. Looks like she is opting to dump Republicans. Will she pull an Arlen Specter and become a Dem. New England congressional Republicans have a habit of doing that to keep their paychecks

I figured the only reason Myth would say he was going to vote for ACB was if enough of the others said no.

He gets to fake being a good guy but remain in good standing with the other derps.

I was expecting the usual from Collins.

“ Collins may be defeated due to her inability to support Trump’s agenda.”

We want Collins to win because even though a lib sits in the seat, it’s a Republican seat.

“MAGA Republicans rarely win elections.”

Then why are all the republican candidates showing up at Trump rallies?

Manchin said he would vote for her but he is nervous about voting for her before the election. I assume that because West Virginia is overwhelmingly pro life that he will feel the heat and vote for her anyway.

The only other comment he has made is that he wants to be sure that West Virginians with preexisting are not hung out to dry should there be any change in health care. There are a lot of people in West Virginia with preexisting conditions.

I wish Manchin would jump party. He tries to walk too fine a line.

I wonder if Trump ever talks to people like Collins before he blasts them, or vice-versa. Seems if Collins has data that suggests being a thorn in Trump’s side will help her chances of reelection, she may just ask for Trump to blast her on twitter to reinforce the impression that she is not in lock step with Trump, especially when her vote isn’t needed.
