I recall that sometimes when I would decide to skip church and stay home instead, I would remind myself that some Christians in foreign countries don't have the luxury of making that decision, and that one day I might be barred from attending church and would regret skipping it. I am surprised to find myself in that very situation; I likely thought it wouldn't REALLY occur in my lifetime. So I am taking the opportunity to post John 3:16 while it is still possible to do so, knowing that one day it will be forbidden. It's an honor to have a leader like General Flynn to look up to for guidance in these tense, confusing days. 
I appreciate the timely reminder that, although the battlefield and conditions may change, our mission remains the same. Like soldiers dropped in a foreign land, we still serve God first, and then our country, by continuing to humbly speak the Truth in wisdom and regard for those who just don't understand and are afraid. In the harsher lands ahead, the Truth remains the same but our tactics change to meet the needs. I pray that God opens the eyes of all who resist the truth. May God help all discern the truth in the dumpster fire of lies in the media. We were awakened for a reason and it's bigger than we have imagined. Father in Heaven, please lead us to act where we are needed both in prayer and deed. Grant us the privilege of serving You. Thank you for the sacrifice of your son, Jesus, on the cross so that I may come before You in prayer. I pray that God directs each of us to use our time as He wills. The FReepathon is underway! ATLANTA, Texas — Mayor and Army Reserve Command Sgt. Maj. Travis Ransom has been called to active duty in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel, according to a City of Atlanta press release.
Attempts to reach Ransom for comment after business hours Tuesday were unsuccessful.
"Ransom will deploy to Afghanistan as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major with the 321st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Battalion later this fall and expects to spend up to nine months overseas", the release states.
OFS is part of a NATO mission that conducts counterterrorism operations targeting terrorist groups like al Qaeda and the local ISIS affiliate.
OFS also conducts a train, advise and assist mission to build up local Afghan security forces.
Ransom is a 23-year veteran of the Army Reserve who has mobilized and deployed numerous times.
He has been Atlanta mayor since August 2017."
Mayor Pro-tempore Dean McDuff will run city council meetings in Ransom's absence, according to the press release. Attempts to reach McDuff for comment after business hours Tuesday were also unsuccessful.
"This is a historic time to deploy as we face uncertainty around the globe," Ransom said. "Deploying in the middle of a pandemic, during a presidential election, and while peace talks with the Taliban are ongoing, adds additional complexity to the mission."
Ransom graduated from Atlanta High School in 1996 and attended Texarkana College and Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Prior to college, he joined the Army Reserves.
"I felt it was a good way to pay for college," Ransom told the Gazette in 2019. "My dad was a retired lieutenant colonel, and any men I've ever known that were worth their salt were in the Army."
As a counterintelligence agent in the Reserves, Ransom was called upon to go to many places. The most memorable assignment was during the conflicts following the collapse of Yugoslavia in the '90s, he said earliler. That kind of experience helped him rise in rank to command sergeant major, the highest enlisted rank a Reservist can hold.

On a personal note, Travis is one of the finest conservative, Christian young men I've ever met. We are friends and colleagues, as well as being fellow members of Atlanta's largest Baptist church. When Travis was District Manager for (conservative) Texas Senator Eltife, we collaborated on a couple of projects.
Recently, Travis ran for the position to replace John Ratcliffe as our U.S. Representative . I signed on as Precinct Chair to vote for him -- but we were outvoted in favor of the Dallas-area candidate...

IN! Before Nessie comes and asks for tree-fiddy and after watching President Trump go in and battle Savannah Guthrie (pretty well I thought). I then watched Quid Pro Joe for an hour and the energy was, well, underwhelming. I wonder if they're going to dump him just before Election Day...
