There is a huge market these days for armed ,private bodyguards. Left wing billionaires, silicon valley conglomerates, wok CEOs, media bigshots and many others have bid up the cost and snatched up the best ex law enforcement,ex military and qualified others. Some boast the equivalent of well disciplined efficent private police forces. It seems low level left wing journalists are getting the bottom of the barrel when it comes to armed private security
Mace is no justification for drawing a firearm and shooting someone.

That guy isn’t security for the news station. They should be clearly marked as such. An employer is responsible for their temporary employee.
Wasn’t the gun being pointed at the victim before the mace was sprayed? If so, one could say that the mace was being used in self-defense.
