If a guard has any kind of "relationship" with a prisoner, it's not really consensual.

I believe according to U.S. law, any relationship between guard and prisoner, is by definition rape.

Dominance and violence is quite common in lesbian relationships. I could imagine quite a few enjoying being SS prison-camp guards.

For some reason, I’m reminded of P.J. O’Rourke’s quip that nobody ever had a sexual fantasy about being tied up and ravished by a liberal.

Was the Nazi guard Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS?

Is it an ‘unwritten law’ that in certain circumstances one is expected to do what is necessary to survive?

I am constantly amazed at how many insane social atrocities are committed by left-wing professors. It’s staggering. Professors make up maybe 0.002 percent of the population. Yet they show up in half of these crazy stories.

Yep.

The lady might have been raped but to call it a relationship would indeed slander.

Especially with an SS guard and a Jewish woman. I'm sure that if the nazis had won, after the war the SS guard would've made sure her "lover" went into the crematoria.

Lots of women were coerced into sex by Nazis. When you are in hell waiting your turn to die you do what you have to to survive.

I can't believe some scumbag academic is trying to besmirch her mother's reputation with this garbage.

If the woman’s mother submitted to the sexual depredation of her jailer so she could survive, I salute her eternal memory. She is a hero who beat the Nazis by not being murdered by them. Human beings have been forced to do much worse. It’s the guard’s family who have much to be ashamed of, not the victim’s. The professor who outed the victim is not much better than the perpetrator; end her career immediately.
