Thank you all for your kind words & well wishes.
I’m out of surgery & I feel good. They removed the entire tumor from my neck.
The bad news is, it looks like lymphoma.
The good news is, there are treatments options.
Either way, it’ll be okay. Thank you all for your support

Yes it is, and yet that region did have a couple that were maybe worse than an LA style quake. Fortunately, the area was not full of people back then.
Unfortunately, many of the buildings that still exist are older and not built to withstand an earthquake-lots of brick buildings. Some of the buildings built during the last couple of decades of the 20th century did incorporate additional things in case of quakes.
St. Louis, if I understand it correctly has soil that makes the impact worse-the banks all had to make quake/disaster plans around 1990 -ordered by the Feds. Supposed to be able to be partially up and running within 24 hrs. and fully running within 3 days.
