Pitch of voice is much better under control. She’s been working with a voice coach. Good for her. Pitch goes down at end of phrase and sentence more often. Makes it not as screechy Reading some off notes.

In what capacity is Mike Pence saluting? He is a private citizen holding a public office. He is not the CIC.

I've seen him do this routinely and, yes, it bothers me. :)

Is he returning a salute? It is proper to return if someone salutes you is what I learned as a child.

IIRC, Reagan often returned salutes, especially to the Marine guards at Marine One. He knew the rules about civilians not returning salutes, but he did it as a courtesy. And, I believe he once said that even if he acknowledged the salute in some way the Marines would not drop their hand until he passed. If he returned the salute, they would then drop.

So, I don't worry about it. The only thing that really bothers me about a Democrat returning a salute is that I know the contempt that the recent D's have had for the military.

That’s what I was told. It’s like the folks waving around here. We may not know them but we wave back anyway. Salutations are a sign of respect.
