The debate? Trump was great, Chris Wallace was a dreadful disgrace
American Thinker ^ | 30 Sep, 2020 | Patricia McCarthy

Chris Wallace’s overt defense of Joe Biden throughout the debate on Tuesday night was so obvious, so blatant, he should be proscribed from ever “moderating” a debate again.

Wallace’s performance was as Biden’s protector, his advocate, and that is undeniable. He stepped in at every moment Biden seemed lost: court-packing, lack of support of law enforcement, and Hunter’s criminality.

The debate was so poorly managed. The questions were designed to aid Biden, to coddle him. No wonder Trump felt duty-bound to interrupt. Trump was debating both Wallace and Biden and only one of them is sentient.

Wallace’s intent was clear – sabotage Trump. Wallace succeeded only in looking like the stooge he is.

Why a two-minute rule? That hardly gives either man time to rebut what was just said about him. Wallace even brought up the Charlottesville charge but did not admit it was a manufactured lie without giving Trump the time to deny the lie.

I completely disagree with the folks here that thought Trump should have done things differently. His job was to rattle Biden, not debate.

His job was to get Biden to stammer, to spout nonsense, to alienate the hard left base, to defend the indefensible...and to generate clips for ads. Debating was not the game plan.

Trump succeeded.

Did anyone actually expect better from Wallace?

I think it was a rigged deal. How can you have an openly, long standing, self-identified Liberal as ‘moderator’?

AGREE 100% with this article.

Having been in the Charlottesville - having seen the helicopter burning — everything Biden said was an outright LIE!

I’m sure President Trump (not Sir, as Wallace kept saying) — is stressed out and done with the BS!!!

I know I am - and so are alot more people across the nation!

WALLACE INTERJECTS: “But Tulsa and Ft Worth are run by REPUBLICANS and their crime is also increasing”

NOT the observation of the ‘moderator’ to make. If slow Joe made that observation and said so, that's different. So, in fact, Wallace handed Joe an oar.

The POTUS debates began to move away from the issues when Lloyd Benson insulted Dan Quail on stage. Each passing debate the demonkraps have ramped it up. Trump is the first and only GOP candidate to not sit there, patiently waiting for two minutes of a demonkrap smear job to end, looking at his watch so they can “HW” him while being accused of not knowing the price of a gallon of milk that starving children cannot afford, before politely responding.

Fighting is never poetic, beautiful, artistic. War is hell. Politics is blood sport. The dmeonkraps have changed the civil debate rules going back to Lloyd Benson. As I stated elsewhere, Trump doesn’t wait around for the insults to end before responding. He’s a fighter, not a limp wristed debater.

Wallace was Biden’s shill. He was making points that Biden couldn’t remember. (And BS points at that)

I think Trump came into the debate pissed off. He tried to insure that he wasn’t up there with a juiced-up automaton talking from a wire in his ear.

His people let him down, so he was pissed.

Joe slept for 5 days to be ready for that.

Hopefully, Trump can move on. One tactic these asshats are using is to get under his skin.

He’s a doer, not a talker. He needs to keep getting things done and bring some humor to the next one. I wanted to see him put a little light out on the podium in front of him that he could say lit up whenever Biden’s wire was talking to him. He could then have it blinking on and off throughout the “debate”.

Wallace even would call corners by saying he was going to toss some favorable questions in periodically and your going to like this. Doesn’t sound unbiased.

Trump failed to disavow white supremacy

Fritz, you're a prime example why I dropped the Republicans to become an independent Trump voter.

Biden and Wallace pushed President Trump to disavow the White Militia which makes me think Antifa plans to move their destruction to the suburbs and rural areas and wants the President to side against the people who will have to defend themselves.
Two small towns in north Georgia had their Republican Headquarters burnt down the other night so the left is changing their strategy.

It was a set up: the camera focused in immediately when Joe made his appeal to the American people. No accident there. Joe demanding extra time for Trump speaking — that was staged in advance. Just the whole two against one with interrupting Trump, cutting Trump off to move on, giving more time to Joe, asking acquisitive questions of Trump, etc. It was a crap fight. More important: the American people realized how deceptive the Biden campaign is.

When Biden spoke Trump naturally looked to his left to see him so on the split screen side by sideit looked like Trumps eyes only had one direction. For tv I think it would be more effective if Trump looked at the camera straight on more and even if he looked to his right when Biden said something extra stupid.

Do I? I don’t think so to either question.

I note that he looked unhappy from the get-go. I know what agreements he was trying to have in place so that it might be a debate, and not a circus, and how he was denied this simple fairness.

Biden is a lying bomb-thrower, and last night he was run from a wire. Trump handled the situation better than any Republican before.

I could tell Trump was frustrated. I can't blame him. I do think he could reign it in just a tad, but, that's his personality.

He's an Abrams tank running over Priuses.

Wallace was pitiful. He should never be allowed to moderate again.
