September 29, 2020 On the eve of the first presidential debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, the Simon Wiesenthal Center denounced an ad released by the Jewish Democratic Council of America.
“Comparing the President of the United States to Hitler and Goebbels is beneath contempt. That a Jewish group produced compounds the offense. For 75 years Jews have emphasized the uniqueness of the Nazi savagery, racism, and genocide that mass murdered a third of our people and led tens of millions dead during WWII," said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Simon Wiesenthal Center associate dean and Global Social Action Director.
"Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden are fair game for loud and sustained criticism on their policies, language, and style. But invoking of Nazi imagery not only slanders the victims of the Nazis, the candidate, but the tens of millions of Americans who support him. In 2020, anti-Semitism from the far right, far-left, and Islamists remains a real threat to American Jews. We need to demand of our candidates accountability on how they will combat it from all quarters," added Cooper.

That might have been a good idea. They could have at least checked with a PR firm. Or a child with good sense.
It doesn’t matter it will affect nothing. The Jewish vote will not turn one state blue or red.

Speaking as a Jew who lost distant family in the Holocaust/Shoah, and who knew his wife’s uncle who survived Birkenau (the work camp for Auschwitz) and other camps, I do have a lot of respect for the Simon Wiesenthal Center. They have done good work, and they are not political.
I cannot say that I have any respect whatsoever for the Jewish Democratic Council, which always was, is and will be just a nakedly Leftist political organization...an organization that fails to understand that the Nazis were - just like Communists, Socialists and Progressives of all stripes and nationalities across time - Collectivists. They have, are and will continue to essentially back parties that share key portions of their ideology with the Nazis.
There is, fundamentally, no difference between all of these so-called “left wing” ideologies and Nazism - the Left-Right dichotomy is just plain made-up and false. The only dichotomy that matters in politics is the one between those who are Collectivist (and thus favor “group rights” and repress individual rights and liberties) on the one hand, and those who are Individualist (and thus in favor of individual rights and liberties) on the other.

My sincere condolences for the loss of your family in The Horror(my term for the Holocaust) but just to point out Auschwitz was the slave labor part of the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex.
The only ‘’work’’ done at Birkenau was murder. In any event the two camps were Hell on this Earth.
