At the 55th Annual Governors Buffalo Roundup in Custer State Park in South Dakota, the bison arent the only draw this year. Governor Kristi Noem, with an ever-rising profile in the Republican Party, joined cowboys and cowgirls on horseback for the September 25th festivities.
For South Dakotas 33rd Governor, the Buffalo Roundup is arguably the best day in South Dakota.
I love it, she told me. Its great to have so many visitors, and Im glad we have good weather too. This years event drew about 20,000 spectators to the state park, a 71,000-acre oasis home to about 1,300 free-range bison.

This is the kind of woman that liberal women talk about being (girl power, etc)....but dont have the nerve, work ethic, guts, etc.

“Feel the earth tremble as the hooves of more than 1,300 American buffalo pound through the valley. At the annual Buffalo Roundup, herdsmen on horseback spur them over the ridge, down the hill and into corrals for sorting.
The entire Custer State herd passes by only a few hundred feet from your seat. After they are safely in the corrals, you can watch as the herd is sorted, branded, tested, and treated.”
Thank you. I noticed the strap too and was wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on me. I can’t believe this was a staged photo op, since there were a heck of a lot of other people there, but there is something going on.
Not knowing much about saddle design, is there a possibility there is a second strap underneath actually cinched tight, and the outer one is for decoration?
Beautiful lady.
What struck was the light in her eyes. That ain’t no politicians smile, thats the smile of someone truly happy.
Ya done good South Dakota.

My Native brothers understood what Buffs were made to do...
Eat, Pee and Poop and then till it all under with your hooves that till not compress the soil as Cattle do
Range fires, Buffies and Rain and the Buffalo Grass was so tall that a man on horseback was barely visible.

Don’t get carried away with Candace. If she wants to be president, she needs some governing and executive experience. Of course, she is very young and could acquire that. Needs to live in a conservative enough district to be elected to, say, Congress, to start.
Funny thats what I saw as well and I really dont ride much. beautiful horse and rider though.
That is now my new Desktop background :)
How in the hell is it creepy to appreciate or even “lust” such a stunning beauty. lol Grown adults can recognize her intellect and accomplishments and still comment on the obvious. What kind of sour fruit are you lmao
God Blessed South Dakota (and hopefully the America some day).
