For months, scientists and public health experts have warned of mounting evidence that the novel coronavirus is airborne, transmitted through tiny droplets called aerosols that linger in the air much longer than the larger globs that come from coughing or sneezing.
Now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention agrees. The CDC recently changed its official guidance to note that aerosols are thought to be the main way the virus spreads and to warn that poorly ventilated indoor spaces are particularly dangerous.

I think we all knew that, regardless of what they said previously. DUH! The first huge outbreaks were on cruise ships.
Suckers
My vote goes for both lousy ventilation and disgusting shared toilet pipes. Whenever there is a problem with a toilet on a cruise ship, the crew opens the wall in the corridor in front of the cabin.
Pretty soon building ventilation systems will suck air out through ceiling intakes.
Same here. So masks are useless.
"A draft version of proposed changes to these recommendations was posted in error to the agencys official website. CDC is currently updating its recommendations regarding airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19). Once this process has been completed, the update language will be posted"
“I believe that this is naked politicized fear mongering to play the long con ... I will now go take off my tin foil hat.”
Of course, you’re right. Another big fat lie to extend the fear in the peons to impact the election. Every week they’ll find another scary thing to put out there.

As an interesting aside. I was getting my flu shot today and the pharmacist remarked that if/when the Wuhan vaccine comes, they won’t be able to administer it. Reason? One of the leading candidates requires storage at -115º and they don’t have that kind of storage. So besides everything else, there could be a serious logistical problem.
On the bright side IF airborne, its a lousy airborne infection as it is not very efficient.
Yup! Bump that. DC bureaucrats feel too safe.
Which is why masks are useless, and instead we should have spent money upgrading these poorly ventilated spaces, and put in protections for them.
I assume the NY subway was poorly ventilated, and I know that the high-rises in that city in poor neighborhoods are horribly ventilated, and that is likely where most of their spread came from, that and poorly ventilated nursing homes.

One of our younger relatives on track to be an engineer did an internship this summer with a cutting edge HVAC company. His bosses/owners of this company have felt that the dirty air being recycled wherever there are sick people or people becoming sick are often the causes of spreading CV~19 and ???? to other patients and staff, exposed to the contaminated/recycled air.
He has discussed this with his girlfriend, a future RN and a female relative finishing her last classes before becoming an RN.
No one in power in hospitals really wants to discuss this problem.
Then, throw another emerging piece of data: Homeless people living outside in the open air are not coming down with CV~19.
Most modern hospitals have taken this into account. They have air exchange systems, they have separate systems for high-risk areas, they use things like filters, and UVC lights, for controlling airborne particles.
My dentist set up a bunch of UVC filters around their office to help keep things clean. I put a UVC light in my A/C system early on in the pandemic, before they got really expensive.
Over 100 years ago (1918 flu) patients were told,
"
“The CDC says coronavirus is airborne and spread by aerosols, warns of poorly ventilated spaces”
and then within hours retracted that information from their website and said it had been posted in error!
