The Cowboys remained a huge draw because they didn’t allow the anthem protests from their team. You really think their fan base is going to approve of the changes to that? That’s a hell of a gamble by the Jones family. Guess we’ll find out Sunday night.
They better figure it out pretty soon or they will be losing Big Bucks.
Down 16% from 2019? That was when people were already pissed off about the kneelers.
Take it back to a season opener from 2016 or so for a real snapshot.
>>In an America and a NFL still adjusting to the new normal of live sports in the era of COVID-19, last nights Kansas City victory also fell 16.1% in total sets of eyeballs from last years fast affiliate results but remember, those numbers will change in one form or another later today.<<
No, it is the era of wokeness, soon to be known as the era that ended pro sports in America.
By definition, MORE people are watching TV post-COVID. Thus TV viewership should have gone UP.
No one is buying this “COVID killed the TV sports star” crap (would make a good song, eh?).
only 16% down ... a lot of fat old white men are having a hard time giving up their crushes on their heroes. There’s just something about wearing another man’s name on your back ... especially when there’s a very good chance that he’s a felon. Lovely.
Even worse than the hero worship is the fake sense of community. Many of the stadiums aren’t even located in the cities identified in the team names. Those cities are 3rd World style hell-holes now that people don’t want to go to after dark. Sportsball cannot die fast enough, and the NFL is the worst of it. The sense of community is just a marketing campaign based on leftover emotions from a bygone era. Lovely.
And why is an official attendance not available? I have never seen an official attendance of exactly XX,000. It's always been xx, 332, or xx, 567 - never an even 1,000.
That is right!!
That is right!!
The Super Bowl will still be the highest rated program by a considerable distance.
The Top 30 programs will still contain a bunch of NFL playoff and prime time games.
Covid has stopped “raging”. Geesh so sick of this BS.
That was 1 Sport I really enjoyed watching through my 50+ years. But yesterday, I worked late instead of hurrying home to “BE READY” for kick-off, as it has been for as long as I can remember. Funny how priorities change; the NFL (NBA,MLB etc) has no idea how they are destroying their image + I am proud to see them ruin themselves.
I’d like to see a plane loaded with pig shit unload on the players mid game.
Spectator sports are now dead to me. Went to the range Wednesday. Going fishing Monday.
Didn’t the players explain racism and social justice to the stupid rednecks in the audience?
I don’t understand why people are mad.
Because it isn’t really about the profit from the fans, it is the message
Doesn’t actually sound like that much, considering.
We must be desperate for our circuses to go with our bread.
Okay, I’ll say it. This drop in TV ratings has nothing to do with covid-19. At home they don’t have to socially distance. They can all sit in the same room and watch. So this is just another lie and if people buy into it, they are real sheep. And I’m sure many of us know what the real problem is.

Numbers = number of govt employees and agencies., that’s who’s watching the Nebuchadnezzar brain to animals now.
Mockery only, no value no payment.
This thread has 79 replies as I write this... I hope they all said, “Who cares?”
“even with the Texans taking an early lead in last nights game, once halftime came and Kansas City led 17-7, the game lacked drama. By the time the scoreboard read 31-7, a fourth-quarter rally by the Texans was a noble but wasted effort. Add to that the fact that KC and Houston are not big national draws and this opening stumble may end up being a footnote once the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Rams face off this weekend on the Sunday Night Football opener.”
