I’ve noticed that in the baseball world there’s absolutely no mention of BLM or any of this crap at all and their deaths down to business in the baseball and they’re pretty much ignoring the coronavirus crap as well
No this is just the first game in football and the old saying is “it’s all fine and dandy until somebody smashes you in the face”
And this I think we can expect some virtue signaling for week one and week two but all that will fade away and it’ll just be getting down to real football very quickly

To me, it is very disappointing that rating were down only 16%. That is a sad statement about America that so many people are willing to support professional and farm-team (college) sports when those leagues clearly state their hate for America and Americans at every single opportunity.

There are going to be a lot of butt-hurt players when their contracts come up for renewal and they find out there is no money due to the reduced NFL revenue.
I would think that, all other things being equal, COVID would increase TV viewers. Shut in with nothing to do except wash sports.
I tuned in after the game had already started, but even then it was all politics, politics, politics. I turned it off.

You can’t blame this on COVID. Logically, the TV ratings should be UP—as in going through the roof.
Streaming services (like Hulu) are hitting record numbers. Why? Because people are stuck inside with nothing else to do but watch TV.
How can the NFL’s TV viewership be down, unless people are deliberately tuning out the NFL.
Not only is NFL viewership down 16%, they are missing out on the huge “corona stay at home” bump that every other TV service is getting. Meaning, the actual number of people turning off the NFL is more than 16%.

I'd suggest next week they should have the players unite in an effort to spread healing and take turns stomping and spitting on a dirty American flag laying on the field. If viewership continues to decline, they should try lighting it on fire.
