The Stars have lost customers over their support of Black Lives Matter and protests over racial inequality, president and CEO Brad Alberts said Friday afternoon.

“But we/I stand by our organization’s commitment and support our players 100% to express their views,” Alberts said.

When asked which customers the team has lost, Alberts said season-ticket holders, and that it was a mix of individual and company accounts. He did not disclose specific names. Alberts said no advertisers have pulled funding.

Recently, the CEO of Papa Johns said that a lot of the CEOs are caving into the pressure to show support for BLM. The ones who don’t personally support BLM will officially support them because they fear their business will be ruined. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson shaking down businesses for contributions was child’s play compared to this nationwide shakedown.

I would suspect the contracts are pretty tight.

"To express their views" is not the primary function of professional sports teams. It is to generate revenue by entertaining paying customers. Expressing "views" does not fulfill their reason for existing.

Just how will the NFL —and others—back out of their commitments to BLM and similar associations ? Too late for the NBA...

They’ve signed their own death warrant. Goodell said he “wished he’d listened to Kaepernik.” LOL

I would have thought black hockey fans would respond positively to the Stars’ support of BLM.

Enjoy your bankruptcy and poverty, a-holes. No one ever deserved it more.

Funny thing, as soon as sports came on today, I turned off the TV. I have better things to do.

As far as I know, the Minnesota North Stars, were never part of the world hockey league. They were a 1967 NHL expansion team.

Politics should never have entered sports.

Lots of things that politics should've stayed away from but then the liberals decided "silence is violence" and forced everyone to bend the knee.

I feel bad for the employees down the food chain who will suffer a loss of income and never asked to be a part of any of this.

If the fans, esp. season-ticket holders abandon the team (and by implication boycott their sponsors), the businesses will be forced to reduce or drop much of their advertising to an audience that has gone “patriotic AWOL” from the leftists who own/run/ruin and play for these whiny baby asswipe teams.

Well they usually start with a prayer :) Rodeo is the only sport I have left now that hockey and baseball slit their own throats

That sounds like something I could have written!

I was a Dallas Blackhawks fan in the ‘60s, when they played at the State Fair Arena. The Central Hockey League was comprised of farm clubs one level below their NHL teams, so players from the NHL were often sent down to the CHL when rehabbing and CHL players elevated upwards. Got to see many NHL stars. Was taking my daughter, 4-5y/o, to the games leaving wife at home.

The FW Wings - Stars games were a “must” attend, whether in D or FW. Very bitter rivalry with multiple fights each game.

The Modano years were great. ...Recent rules have tamed the games so much that they look like practices. I haven’t watched a game for about 3 years. Sad

Other than the opening day display, required by the MLB, I’ve not viewed the Rangers doing anything except playing ball like they are supposed to do. Sadly, their bullpen let them down big time in the first 15 games or so. They need a string of wins.
