The NHL announced its four Stanley Cup Playoff games scheduled for Thursday and Friday have been postponed after the players on all eight remaining teams decided not to play as a form of protest against systemic racism and police brutality.
"After much discussion, NHL players believe that the best course of action would be to take a step back and not play tonight's and tomorrow's games as scheduled," the NHL and NHL Players' Association said in a statement. "The NHL supports the players' decision and will reschedule those four games beginning Saturday and adjust the remainder of the Second Round schedule accordingly."

Btw, Vancouver’s Thatcher Demko is looking superhuman in the net. He’s the only person keeping Vancouver in this game.
Indeed, I truly believe hockey fans just don't care about color...or national origin...or anything. It's probably because of that melting pot component to hockey (which I believe is greater than any other sport...it may not be racially diverse but it is nationally diverse). The Bullies of 1974 & 1975 were all Canadians but nobody in Philly cared. We had Wayne Simmonds for years, and he was a fan favorite because he was a scrappy guy and a fighter - that he was black never figured into that equation.
That Vegas goal hurt. Demko deserves a better support system.
Demko played lights out!
6 shots in 2 periods are the least ever, since they started keeping shot stats per period.
He got zero help from the offense.
because Americans don't want to watch supporters of commie terrorists.
..great series, but I’ve always hated Las Vegas...
I’ve always had a soft spot for Vegas because of Fluery.
But now he’s riding the bench as a back up goalie and his agent’s comments hasn’t helped. So I don’t really have a dog in this hunt. Just enjoying playoff hockey.
I do always turn the games on late so I miss any BLM BS.
..I was disgusted the way the league fixed it to where an expansion team got to fill its roster with prime players the first year. No expansion team should be able to do that. The Pens and the Kings sure didn’t have that luxery in 1967. Fortunately Ovechkin burst Bettman’s fantasy baloon...
It was a lousy way to build a franchise out of thin air but Bettman wanted a team (the first league in Vegas) ready to compete from “Day 1”.
Seattle is probably going to be doing the same thing.
