Aliens?
Not to worry. There will be 2 more of them.

Oumamaumau Omma Oumamaumau...
“Have you heard, about the turd?”
There’s nothing about it “leaving” in the article except at the beginning.
Thank goodness Commodore Deckers planet killer was still in the process of doing Windows updates while passing through our solar system...
the pic at the site looks like a giant space whale turd.

Loeb says that as incredible as it may seem, the leading explanation for Oumuamua is that it was created as some kind of transport system or interstellar observatory for an advanced alien species. His forthcoming book Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth, will likely expand on his reasons for believing this.
the artist concept is based on observations of the object and its characteristics - looks like many concept sketches for SCIFI space ships minus the doodads artists tack on.
BTW have you ever seen a “giant space whale” yourself and it excrement?
From: 6 Strange Facts about the Interstellar Visitor ‘Oumuamua

Oumuamua moves too fast for our chemical rockets to catch up with it now without a gravitational assist from planets. But since it would take Oumuamua thousands of years to leave the solar system entirely, getting a closer look of it through a flyby remains a possibility if we were to develop new technologies for faster space travel within a decade or two.
Key point which goes to the Fermi Paradox and its antithesis, the Dark Forest Theory
2) "Oumuamua originated from a very special frame of reference, the so-called local standard of rest (LSR), which is defined by averaging the random motions of all the stars in the vicinity of the sun. Only one star in 500 is moving as slowly as Oumuamua in that frame. The LSR is the ideal frame for camouflage, namely for hiding the origins of an object and avoiding its association with any particular star. The relative motion between Oumuamua and the sun reflects the motion of the sun relative to the LSR. Oumuamua is like a buoy sitting at rest on the surface of the ocean, with the solar system running into it like a fast ship. Could there be an array of buoys that serves as a network of relay stations or road posts, defining the average galactic frame of reference in interstellar space?"
Dark Forest postulates that stellar civilizations hide because, like in a dark forest, there are predators lurking, waiting for the unwary, for their meal. Sd far a we know the Universe and our immediate galaxy are finite; what resources exit in any given time period are all that exist. Civilizations need resources to exist. But they cannot reveal their existence to others in their hunt for resources. Should they be exposed, they would certainly be attacked by a predator (competitor) civilization. But the predator civilization cannot reveal its existence in the attack, so it can only attack casually; no giant fleet of warships, but single hidden ships carrying a weapon that cannot be traced back, like something which dives into the target sun and causes it to nova.
So we could postulate that Oumuamua, moving in its camouflaged path, has hidden its origin star - but only to local stars. So we can assume that Oumuamua came from some local star. As a scout? Or something else? What is its mission? Has it already completed its mission as far as we are concerned? Is it just waiting to clear the solar system before activating something? We can with further propulsion advances catch up to it before it actually leaves. I suggest we do with alacrity.
Was its tumbling motion omitted because it’s too unlikely that aliens would choose to rotate on that axis?
