Do you not understand what I’m trying to say—the difference between a TARGET and a suspect?

A TARGET is somebody you are setting up to frame or entrap.

So all I’m saying is Durham ain’t gonna frame the guy-he’s just gonna follow the evidence and prove the dumb SOB guilty.

Target of the investigation, suspect, person of interest are basically the exact same thing. 'Person of interest' came into vogue because 'suspect' was too mean sounding.

It has nothing to do with 'framing'.

But it does have something to do with the legal obligation to read the 'target' his Miranda rights.

That's about it.

Not a lawyer, but I did stay in my comfy bed last night.
