But didn’t we hear/see some stats from another country where virtually no one taking hcq for lupus or rheumatoid arthritis had gotten covid?

I think “preventative” is the key word here.

Who would expect hydroxychloroquine to be antiviral? If it has a benefit it would likely be a lessening of the symptoms of the infection.

“ Prior studies had fewer than 20 COVID-19 patients with SLE and/or RA; this study had 159.”

Out of how many patients? How many went on to develop symptoms? How many got better faster?

That’s practically a statistically insignificant number and you can’t make an assumption about the exposure levels of the other (not mentioned) patients who didn’t get it.

TL:DR - it’s a vapid study.

So, How much did Bill Gates pay these Case Western ‘Scientists’ for these results?

And they always leave out the zinc. The zinc is the virus killer; the quinine is just the vehicle to get it through the cell walls.

What part of hydroxychloroquine is not being claimed to be effective as a sole acting drug, but as a part of three interactive components of regimen a which act synergistically to treat COVID19, do they fail to grasp?

Of course people with Systemic Lupus Erethematosis (SLE) or Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) are not taking that cocktail of HCQ, Zinc, and Azithromycin; they are only prescribed Hydroxychloroquine. It stands to reason that a study would show that it would be ineffective, because it lacks the synergistic effect the cocktail has.

These studies seem to be deliberately designed to achieve a desired negative result for political reasons by omitting the required ingredients in the regimen that is specified, and when they do that, the triumphantly crow that it simply doesn’t work! How stupid do they think we are?

Specifically, they found that HCQ is not effective in preventing COVID-19 in patients with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), suggesting a broader interpretation of HCQ as ineffective preventive medicine...

Isn't that like saying chemo-therapy doesn't work for every cancer patient, so it's useless against cancer?

Hell of an implication....

A large retrospective study that analyzed 159 patient...
It’s a little suspicious that this study did not evaluate the total # of patients with Lupus & RA and compare the # of cases of COVID to # of cases in age matched controls.
I smell cherries being picked. They also don’t tell us how the patient’s COVID status was addressed and whether their courses were mild or severe.
This was a study either poorly designed or rushed out to support an agenda as was the last retracted study.

“preventing COVID-19 “

I also thought that it was not intended to prevent but to lessen the symptoms

I take HCQ and Zinc (Picolinate) prophylactically, and I AM in the high-risk category, by age and profession.
Younger co-worker who works with me in the same room got the CHINESE VIRUS.

I did not.

Nobody said HCQ was a preventative. It’s used early on as an effective treatment coupled with zinc and an antibiotic. No need for Gates DNA altering frankencine.

Simple solution to the pandemic,,,,Make HCQ and Azithromycin OTC drugs so anyone who develops a cough and/or fever can go the nearest drug store and self medicate with the drugs along with Zinc Sulfate with correct dosage within 48 hours of symptoms and pandemic over.,,,,,instead of waiting a few days to get tested and 5 days for the results,,,,if over 60 years of age,,,,you’re dead.

The hypotheses of the anti-HCQ studies and "studies" - center on the following:

Does Hydroxychloroquine alone, perform as a knockout drug --- attacking the virus in a manner much like, if not exactly the same as, treating a digestive tract parasitic infection with one of the quinine cousins --- about which a medical practioner's guideline can firmly be established?

Answer:

Of course, we have found that Hydroxychloroquine alone, does NOT perform as a knockout drug directly vs the SARS-2-CoV Coronavirus itself.

But we already knew that beforehand. Medical research has known the Hydroxychloroquine affects mechanisms at and within human cells --- those being the battlefields where Hydroxychloroquine indirectly fights the replication purpose of the virus.

There is a distinction between TWO different attack vectors, and those are being confused by what studies "say" and seem to pursue (as reported by the leftist "news" media and Dr. Fauci):

HCQ directly vs a parasite, is the typical support for a guideline that doctors can practice.

HCQ indirectly vs a virus, is a grey area, but apparently worthwhile, and doctors find encouraging enough to engage HCQ.

Our interest in Hydroxychloroquine plus Zinc is NOT as a directly offensive weapon against the virus, but as something that indirectly fights the virus at, and within, the human cell as a battlefield, thereby blunting SARS-2-CoV replication.

July 27, 2020, Mobeen Syed, MD, had an early presentation within the first video of the combined efforts by America's Frontline Doctors and Tea Party Patriots Foundation.

Dr. Mobeen Syed's explanation of the mechanisms (plural) of HCQ, re its use-full-ness in the battle against the SARS-2-CoV Coronavirus, by frustrating the attempt by the coronavirus, to use some of a human cell's features for replicating the coronavirus.

I had to watch his "DrBeen" (he is known as, online) explanation of HCQ mechanisms several times, in order to gather his quick English dialect re some of the terminology that he used (egs. mRNA is "messenger RNA").

Q: How can they always forget to include zinc with their studies?
A: Because they aren’t wanting to let anyone know that there is a cheap, effective way to fight CoVid19.

Fake Science.

If they leave out zinc, they have no credibility.

It works by helping the body absorb zinc.

Everyone should be taking 150 mg of zinc a day.

COVID-19 is SARS 1
