I think we have one, in Benedict. My son-in-law said to me that although Benedict resigned as Bishop of Rome, his Papacy is still in effect, according to some. Francis is Bishop of Rome, but not of the holy church. I dont really understand the argument, as I havent researched it further, but I know that historically we have had competing Popes.
I am certainly not that knowledgeable on this subject, but I seem to recall that the time of competing popes was a time of schism back in the Middle Ages.
Pope Benedict, I suspect, is rather frail now. So I am hoping that we will get a new man.
I will continue to pray for the Holy Spirit to guide His Church.
