In 1875, Chief Justice Morisson Waite wrote the opinion of the court on a unanimous decision, containing the following definition:

This is not the first time you have posted this. You also left off an important quote from that decision:
“Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts.”
They then went on to rule that a female citizen, Minor, had no right to vote. No one argues that a person born to 2 citizen parents on American soil is NOT a citizen. It is other circumstances that arise which some people doubt.
SCOTUS has never ruled on the particular question of natural born citizen, and Congress has yet to propose an amendment regarding limitation to a person born on American soil to 2 citizen questions.
It is a pointless argument not likely to be settled in my lifetime, and is likely just going to be ridiculed and ignored again.
I was taught that natural born citizen meant born on American soil and to 2 citizen parents, but after researching it—well let’s just say the citizenship of the Father was the thing back when the constitution was written, so perhaps the schools were teaching incorrect history. shrug.

Yes, and there was some thought that she and Spartacus colluded with Smollett for that FF incident in order to give a boost to that bill.
They way I read it is if she was born in the U.S., she’s a natural born citizen. There’s a great deal of confusion on this subject.
