In the late 70's there was a war waged by US govt. officials(experts) against the traditional American breakfast(bacon & eggs).
Yes it was a great time, I lived next to Huntington Beach High, listening to KROQ.
People in the gubbermint get paid a lot of money to be experts on these things. sarc-

Now they’re OK again. Gubbermint experts have concluded this.
I eat eggs everyday for breakfast and eggs/bacon both days on weekend. Eggs seven days a week. Never had a cholesterol issue.
Thats like being drawn AND quartered. Definite overkill.
Yes- I only recently started eating them again and am 53. In my youth, my parents were told not to eat eggs as they were bad for their cholesterol. We were also told that hairspray was creating a hole in the ozone layer which we also believed. I love eggs.
In the bar I used to hang out in when they emptied the jar of hot links they always put eggs in it to pickle. I couldn’t stand them.
Amazing what remains in people’s memory bank. I know I saw that movie but I don’t remember that scene at all.
Who could forget the hoax/panic of killer eggs?
The Albert Shankar nuclear weapon comment was hilarious—bet most folks today would have no idea what the joke was about....he was a very feisty (crazy, really) teachers union boss in New York City.
Egg yolks have a lot of cholesterol.
Cholesterol is the building block of every hormone in your body.
Dietary intake of cholesterol does not indicate high blood cholesterol.
Control your body’s inflammation with a lower carb diet, exercise, sex, meditation, fish oil, and ample sleep.
Remember margarine? Butter was gonna kill everybody. Use the healthier alternative...margarine.
Now research shows...margarine is horrible for you and the fat in butter is actually beneficial in moderation.
Freaking liberals.
Oh, yes, I remember margarine.
“I remember the eggs and cholesterol hoax.”
Me too.
My brother is a health nut. My diet is cheese, butter, bacon, beef, and pasta. (Everything you shouldn’t eat.)
Last year we compared all our HDL and LDL numbers.
THEY WERE ALMOST THE SAME and mine were a bit better than his.
Genetics dictates your life, no matter what you eat.
Japan has the highest consumption of eggs per capita, yet they don’t even register in terms of heart disease, So much for “ cholesterol.”
After years of buying 1% or 2% milk, we’ve switched back to whole milk. It’s mostly for cereal, but I like an occasional glass of cold milk & over years I had noticed my ears would hurt after drinking 1% or 2% or skim/fat free milk. Then a while back the only available milk was whole milk & I noticed after having a glass of whole milk my ears felt fine. I know it’s odd.
I faintly recall a reference that a British SAS force in either Yemen or Oman used margarine from their ration packs to lubricate machine guns during a prolonged siege.
I know eggs are the perfect protein.
And ketchup.....slathered all over.
