Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac became the first NBA player to stand for the National Anthem as the league resumed play after a 20-week hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The television broadcast showed Isaac, who is Black, standing as players and coaches from both teams, as well as referees, took a knee during the playing of the National Anthem. The 22-year-old forward was also the only player seen not wearing a "Black Lives Matter" shirt.

One lone man refusing to bow to BAAL. The NBA, NFL, and MLB are all showing which god they serve. I will not be paying for these people to either knowingly or unknowingly to elevate themselves above God and Country.
This one man represents what most Americans believe.
St Francis
i do it every day...
so far so good.
ps- i am da boss
Fair enough for you, but it won’t work for most people.
I’m opening my own LLC, as I’m tired of corporate BS and making other people money.
Middle management is completely useless.
Meetings, meetings about meetings, and meetings about meetings about meetings...
How so? Both are refusing to comply with mandatory group-think dictats.
If the refs were kneeling, they are not impartial, and shouldn’t be reffing the game.
Dont be what?
Whos being that whatever guy?
This was inspired by kaepernicks Egyptian America hating girlfriend. Endorsed by ignorant, wimpy roger Goodall.
Pay attention.
Now. Describe how the flag, the constitution, represents racism.
That’s a weak comparison.
You’re comparing a man who stood up to the Nazis to a man worth 22 million “standing up” to the NBA.
The German, and his family, could be executed.
I don’t think that’s an issue for the NBA player.
This is about more than the Flag. If you haven’t figured that out yet, as a FReeper, I am shocked.
The point is standing up against massive national group pressure. The NBA player is being crucified in social media and on MSNBCBS.
It’s not trivial.
And the German did not know for sure at the time anybody would even notice, or report him.
The NBA player knew for sure he would be excoriated and maybe lose his job and any future job.
We’ll just have to agree to disagree.
I understand your point, I just disagree with respect to the risks.
He’s oppressing the rest of them.
?
Whatever.
The meme is not about comparative risk, but standing alone against a group-think mob.
And it compares the BLM “you must take a knee” salute to the Nazi salute.
National Socialist = Nazi
International Socialist = Communist
“How so? Both are refusing to comply with mandatory group-think dictats.”
They are similar in that respect. But the degree of risk undertaken is so different that it makes the two situations dissimilar. The German was risking his life, and his family’s lives. Odds are that he paid with his life for this photograph. The German is in the same league as the man who stood in front of the tanks in Beijing. At worst, Isaac will lose his job, while remaining a millionaire. Nevertheless, Isaac is very admirable for doing this.
Protests are protected speech. Even against the flag. Protests against protests are protected as well. Dont be that jack booted guy who would deny a protest.
Protected speech. Protected by wimps who dont know the difference between pledging allegiance to the flag and sitting on their butts watching a stupid game expecting the military to be the only ones defending the flag against enemies foreign and domestic.
I understand, I just find it demeaning to the German man.
Your point is not what I take from the meme.
At Bible Camp we heard, “You might be the only Bible some people ever see.” Same idea.
He needs to say “America has been VERY GOOD TO ME”!
