Voters in some states are able to cast ballots before the first presidential debate

A Reuters poll conducted during the 2016 presidential election cycle found that half of likely voters rely on the debates to decide which candidate to vote for in the general election.

Voters in some states will be able to cast ballots for the 2020 presidential election before the first scheduled presidential debate takes place on Sept. 29.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

States including Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia and Wyoming permit in-person “early voting” prior to the date of the first presidential debate, according to a review of data collected by the National Conference of State Legislatures. 

Pennsylvania does not have in-person early voting but some counties in the battleground state will begin making mail-in ballots available to voters as early as 50 days before Election Day on Nov. 3. The state of Maine makes absentee ballots available to voters as early as 45 days before the election.

With less than 95 days to go before Election Day, voters in North Carolina are already requesting absentee ballots, which will be mailed out starting the first week of September.

The first 90-minute debate between President Trump and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is scheduled to take place on Sept. 29, followed by the vice presidential debate on Oct. 7. The second presidential debate is Oct. 15 and the third is Oct. 22.

Its all so crazy to allow this early voting along with mail in ballots before the Hiden Biden even has the First Debate with President Trump!
I've been circulating among the people I know without getting fired on the job.
Most don't even know Biden in the age group of 20 thru 35.
This Age group among blacks just don't like Trump because of his language. Whatever. I simply told them Biden is lost and worse than Hillary! Enough said!

I didn’t realize it until Judge Jeanine mentioned it tonight. She said that’s why the Dims want to push back the debates, if they can’t cancel them all together. To fool people into voting before they can see how degraded Biden has become. They are hoping many will think of the old Biden, and not realize he has dementia, but by then they will have already voted.

I always hate that people can vote before debates.

That's not my point.
I have very good friends that are black and Hispanic,Asian gay ,etc. I work in retail with many people.
I'm friends with all regardless their political beliefs or race..gender. I simply told many I know that are not very political.
It's dems keeping you from going to church and living normally as possible during the covid.
It's actually President Trump that supports your right to worship and it's Trumps that wants to continue assistance to help you but the dems are holding it up for more money to cure their cities that has been ruined for years prior to Covid! I try to keep it simple and to their concerns. As for very colorful off the wall language ,I can be that person when needed,but always a lady first until you go too far or against my family! ;) ha!

You’re right. Voter fraud is the real concern this election. I know Trump is on it. I just hope those “helping” him are really on his & our side.

Thanks for the link! Democratic strategist Joe Trippi, who is advising the Jones campaign, disputed the poll’s accuracy in an email to supporters. He said the campaign’s own polling shows the race a virtual tie.

“Sen. Jones is not down 17 points. We have the race as a virtual dead heat. And we are going to win,” Trippi said. “There is no way in hell Doug Jones is down by even double digits, much less 17 points. No way – period. Every metric we have seen – from rising support for the senator among suburban women to increased support with independents – points to this once again being a very close race.”

The Morning Consult poll was conducted from July 24 to Aug. 2 and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 4 percentage points.
