The SEC is delaying the start of its college football season. Per multiple reports, the conference is implementing a 10-game conference-only schedule for each team similar to the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12. But unlike those three conferences, the SEC is also moving the start of football season back. The first SEC games will kick off on Sept. 26, three weeks after the original Week 1 start date on Labor Day weekend.
The delay means that the SEC Championship Game wont be played until Dec. 19 instead of Dec. 5.

Don’t care what Communists do in their spare time. NCAA is done for me along with the other kneeling billionaire franchises that have it so tough.

Pioneer League planning conference-only schedule, also starting 9/26.

Sounds like we are picking up you and Ole Miss. Rough for a team trying to get its feet back under it.
Only way a 10 game conference schedule would work is if the champion had a guaranteed spot in the playoffs. Too much chance for 2 or 3 loss champion excluded from the playoffs by inferior teams with ‘better’ records.
So what. Don’t lose 2 or 3 games. Unless you feel that the SEC is entitled to a playoff berth, which they aren’t.
Maybe this season (if there is one) would be a good opportunity for an expanded playoff with all the conference champions.
What are the odds the season gets cancelled just before Sept 26?
Because...second wave.
See ya on the field...10 games. Let’s hope they let them play!
I remember the “bad ole days” when LSU was astonishingly bad so there is hope!!
And hopefully there will be a season cuz we’re just reloading!
