The SEC is delaying the start of its college football season. Per multiple reports, the conference is implementing a 10-game conference-only schedule for each team similar to the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12. But unlike those three conferences, the SEC is also moving the start of football season back. The first SEC games will kick off on Sept. 26, three weeks after the original Week 1 start date on Labor Day weekend.
The delay means that the SEC Championship Game wont be played until Dec. 19 instead of Dec. 5.

If any conference was going to play, it would be the SEC.
Agreed. No more silly cupcake games. Even inter-conference games are a joke. As a USC fan, I wish this weren't true, but the SEC is far and above the best conf. Let each conf decide their champion, then fight it out in an 8-team playoff.
Are they allowing “virtue signaling”?
Will tackling be allowed, or are they playing flag?
Just know that those "cupcake games" pretty much provide all of the revenue for those cupcake schools' athletic programs.
Then they should raise funds by literally selling cupcakes. These games are a joke and should be ended, China Virus or no China Virus.
I know supposedly even though the Gators are supposed to be pretty good this year, I just don’t have any enthusiasm for college football right now.
The Appalachian State Cupcakes disagree with you. :-P
Touche’ but that is rather rare, and Michigan was not the cream of the crop that year.
If a school can’t fund their football team, then maybe they should get rid of football.
Of course they are, colleges and universities are the national leaders in leftist thought.
What good is delaying it going to do?
Or they can do exactly what they’re doing.
If you don’t like it, don’t watch it.
Or, become President of the school.
Nothing.
I doubt it will even happen.
I know supposedly even though the Vols are supposed to be pr.... Okay, even I couldn't get through that sentence without laughing. We could have used Charlotte, Furman, and Troy. Although, skipping the trip to Norman doesn't make me sad.
I wish the SEC would go to a 10 game conference schedule every year.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
enjoy the 10 game SEC schedule this year as you won’t see it again.
economics won’t allow the SEC to beat each other up for 10 games and not have an undefeated contender for NCG.
a 2-3 loss game season might be the best record coming out of a 10 SEC game season, imo.
no more championship playoffs with 2 SEC teams qualifying.
that along with other lower tier bowl splits would cost the league to lose too much money to play a 10 conference game schedule every year.
plus no more big marquee out of conference games to fit in a 10 game schedule.
resulting in Big 12 or ACC basically having guaranteed slots for OU & Clemson every year.
SEC has always been all about MAX money, so this won’t happen again.
EXACTLY!
We simply CANNOT have Michigan playing App State!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
Hail State!
