I would hve bet that freak was a catcher, not a pitcher...guess he should update his GRINDR profile? LOL
Maybe they should go back to making GOOD motors. Just an idea.
The biggest boom in home improvement and they go bust?
Sort of what I was thinking....
I’ve wanted for the longest time to see a Honda engine on a Snapper riding lawnmower. Would probably outlast me.
???
That sucks. Probably crushed under the weight of its own debt.
Maybe they should go back to giving honest horsepower ratings for their motors.
I won’t buy any piece of equipment for my construction business unless it has a Honda motor on it. I like to buy American when I can but they are simply the best.
There are after market Honda engines that may fit.
I have an old lawn tractor with a Briggs and Stratton 18 hp engine. The deck is rusted out and the tires are almost slick but the engine still cranks immediately.
I now use it as a powered wheel chair when I don’t feel like walking to my mailbox.
My wife works for a company that manufactures accessories for lawn care.
A great many of them are used with small vehicles that utilize the Briggs and Stratton engines. Her company has been on mandatory overtime all year, including hazard pay during the initial outbreak of covid-19.
If there’s an outside cause of the B&S business misfortune, it isn’t the pandemic.
Dadgummit! I like Briggs. Good solid price-point engines. Ive abused them and they still start and run. Old school for sure vs aHonda or Kawasaki. But, still . . . .. I like to see Americans employed.
The name of the asset buyer is the first clue!
Now they just give a torque number.
But they do publish a torque curve with rpm data too so one can fairly easily calculate a horsepower.
My problem is that they don’t have altitude [and air cleaner element dirt level] compensated carburetors like one of the chain saw manufacturers [Husqvarna?] have.
Just try to get a larger engine. Gas is cheap.
Agree.
Honda motors sold in the US are made in the US.
My log splitter, mower Are powered by Honda.
Our precious pontoon was powered by a 225 horse outboard that was smooth as silk.
They now seem to have Overhead Valves, but I've yet to have to take one of the OHV engines apart.
At some point I’d like to see about a replacement motor for a long sitting Mighty Mac pressure washer rig.

The link above has a much newer model but it’s an idea.
The one I know about has been sitting for 15 years. I got it to kick over once a couple of years ago just playing around.
It has a Briggs Stratton motor mounted on it and of course, the location of the make/model is impossible to see where the ID plate is to find a possible replacement carb.
I keep thinking I will take it to the local Briggs Stratton people for a new motor due to age and sitting up. The biggest thing would be connecting to the pump.
When I had it sort of running, the pump did show pressure building. It might be intact.
Last weekend I gave it a shot of ethanol free down the carb like the last time. The engine spun over but that was all. I didn’t have any sockets with me to check if the plug was fouled.
