Trump should just do everything democrats want done, as to ‘take the issue away from them’, then he will win in a landslide.

Until the globalist right wing Chamber of Commerce Cheap Labor hacks stops all of the MASSIVE LEGAL immigration via H, L and J visas then I am for this. End all the LEGAL immigration and then grads could afford their tuition.

“Hell NO! They will still be voting Democrat!”

Not all of us. Of course, I don’t vote Republican anymore, either. Far too many RINO’s in the Government now. I’m kind of conflicted. This would benefit me. OTH, I do not believe it would be good for the Government or the country. I’ve been paying on my student loan debt for almost a decade, and the balance is higher now than it was when I finally gave up trying to find a job in my field. Nobody wants a conservative old fart/white guy teacher.

Don’t let your babies grow up to be teachers.

No, no, no, no, and no.

I'll post my idea again. Force the colleges to provide employable job skill training to the students who got into debt for their woke "studies" degrees. That's what they were paid to do anyway. The colleges who are unable or unwilling to provide this training must pay back the tuition to those who paid it, which in most cases would be the tax payers.

The students who accept this training must forfeit their degrees in "homosexuality in homosapiens" studies. Those who refuse to do so are admitting they got something of value, and are owed nothing.

This way, everybody wins. The students get employable job skills, the colleges get the opportunity to make good on their promises by providing the training they were paid to provide, and the tax payers don't get stuck with the bill.

And buy American, so the students who have employable job skills can find work.

These young college people will NEVER vote Trump...this is nothing more than a bribe to no end. I had to pay my loans, my wife paid hers, my daughter is paying hers, and my son will pay his. That’s the arrangement, student loan debt, college, job, pay your bills and contribute to society. Just like reparations, everybody wants something for nothing anymore. These people make me sick, or perhaps since I’ll eventually pay for it, maybe I’m being played as a sucker.

End H-1B work visas and salaries for all college grads will start to increase over night. A GOOD THING. The system is rigged. Forgive all debt, cap tuition rates, and stop ALL immigration for many decades. ( this will never happen...)

The government does not have the right to:

cancel legitimate debts,
set an hourly rate of pay,
terminate lives,
seize property,
invalidate legal contracts,
allow people to not pay their rent.

And many others as well.

First of all, these people will not appreciate anything Trump does for them. In fact, they will hate him more. Secondly, who wants to pay for someone’s 8 year degree in “Moron Marching”.

You don’t defeat your opponents by adopting their hair brained ideas. He could make all abortions “free,” allow illegals to vote, fully implement the green new deal, disband all police and pay reparations and the left would still hate him. Yours is one of the worst ideas I’ve ever read.

Not just NO, but HE** NO!

You borrow the money, YOU pay it back.

Cancelling debt just puts the burden on others that had nothing to do with your over-priced, useless degree.

Students need to carry their own weight in the world, just like everyone else.

Solve the problem at its source. Remove ALL federal money from ALL education, including loan guarantees, and abolish the education department. The only exception to be strict cost-per-child payments for military children in local schools and schools on military bases for military dependents.

It shouldn’t be Trump that forgives the debt, it should be the school.

Let the school take the hit.

NO, and HELL NO! the federal government needs to be removed totally from education funding and loan guarantees. Caps are always creatively circumvented to a cost higher than without the caps and retain federal control of local education.

I disagree but I do think lowering interest rates on higher interest loans should be considered. Some are over 8% and higher than current market.

Can the borrowers not refinance their own loans? I've refinanced mortgages in the past to a lower rate. Of course, mortgages are secured by the property, whereas student loans are secured by .... a wymen's studies degree...

WTF is it with FR lately

The Federal Reserve has created a gigantic moral hazard. None of the things we were taught growing up apply to modern America any more. One way or another, the student debt will be forgiven by today's political class. The original poster just thinks Trump might as well get some of the credit.

Under my plan colleges can exceed the mandated tuition caps but any loans above the cap must be underwritten privately and discharged in bankruptcy court.
