First off......what you are now writing isn’t the same message your post was meant to relay. It’s not what I’ve been reading here for days now.

Secondly.......A mask, the wearing of a mask is not that great moment that the resident keyboard warriors have been waiting for. Sorry to disappoint you,

As I recall, before mask were the end time fashionable thing, just 2 weeks into the lock down across the country the same people were ready for Civil War over the I-Hop being closed.

The real people afraid, the ones that are upset the most that everything isn’t back to normal, and life is full of restaurants and Waffle Houses without mask are the Anti-maskers.

The numbers are now starting to exceed the regular yearly flu, by quite a bit in some places. What’s the mantra for that? “ The numbers are lie! They’re fake!” Like clock work.

It’s a public health crisis. It will pass. Governor DeSantis and Trump have a great relationship. DeSantis is not out to get Trump.

Eh. I live in probably the bluest of blue states, so I am bathed in Leftism. I see it all around me.

I also work in healthcare, and I have to say this: I have zero problem wearing a mask or getting a vaccination to work where I do.

I do that because my employer requires it, and people would not come to where I work to get infected with things and die. They are coming there to get healthy or stay healthy.

If they want me to walk on my hands for three seconds at the top of the hour, they will be disappointed with my effort...:)

But I believe that, in public a citizen should decide. This isn’t the plague with a 40% mortality rate across the board. With this virus, people should be able to decide for themselves. I have no problem with a private business mandating it.

I can leave where I work, or I can decide not to patronize a store. But you can’t do that with the government.

My sentiment is described in the post above. This is not the plague. If it were, the government wouldn’t have to force people to quarantine.

People would weigh the risks and benefits and do it themselves. It is a value judgement on the value of life, and people do it every single day. We do it when we jump in a car to drive to the store. If this virus was as deadly as the plague, people would be barricading themselves in their houses threatening to shoot anyone who came on their property.

But it isn’t. And people should be able to make that choice themselves.

That is the underlying point.

Yes........the Leftist way, you disagree with them, you’re a Nazi.

I am for tax cuts, smaller gov, secure borders and voter ID...."you Nazi",

is completely different from forcing someone to do something against their will based on lies and propaganda and calling the enforcer out. Nice try.

That is also an overarching part of the issue. The people pushing indefinite shutdowns fail to even acknowledge there is any real issue beyond the money issue...which is a real and big issue.

Mental and physical issues are increasing in this environment, people who worry about their job and income, whether they can make their mortgage payments, what the long term effects on missing school might have on their children, all these things. Crime, suicides, and divorces are up.

I heard someone seriously say that money isn’t a problem, they should just print more. And this was a well educated and successful person.

These things are not nothing. They are something.

And to do all this, and spending trillions of dollars, mortgaging the futures of our children and grandchildren in the hope to keep some percentage of people alive today, is a choice being made for us by government

Actually, I don’t know that divorces are up...I think I meant to say “and divorces are probably up too”

With all of the financial and personal stress from the scamdemic and the lockdowns, I wouldn’t be surprised if the divorce rate has risen.

It has already been reported that suicides have increased.

LOL. If they required us to walk on our hands then I would be in big trouble:)

I guess my aversion to masks stem from my severe anxiety and my congenital heart defect. I’ve had surgery which helped the defect, but I still have some problems and have problems breathing in masks.

Never mind the fact that masks render me halfway blind because they fog up my glasses.

At least you work in healthcare, so I can see where that would be a big help to you.

I will refuse a vaccine for this bug. As a rule, I’m not an Anti-Vaxxer, but I don’t trust Big Pharma when it comes to this one.

I’m proud of my Brother and Sister Serbs for rebelling against mandatory masks. We Slavs don’t like being told what to do:)

Nixon had his flaws, to be sure, but he was head and shoulders above either of his competitors - as is the case with EVERY Republican since then. Not because they are so great (some are, to be sure), but because the Dems are so universally awful.

Great post.

Has anyone else noticed the nearly empty restaurants and bars? While they are allowed to be open, they’ve had to accommodate new rules on spacing and so much else. It isn’t back to “normal”, so people just aren’t going to them. Things that used to be fun aren’t fun anymore.

Wow, I just checked my cell phone, my iPad, and my husband’s cell phone. I don’t allow automatic updates, but my husband does. His phone has the CoVid tracker, but neither of my devices do. That’s super scary.

You’ve all voiced what I’m feeling.

“Man must not live by bread alone” — I could modify that to substitute “essential services” for “bread.” The shutdown has destroyed our social connective tissue and general enjoyment of life. My state/county has issued a new directive as of June 19 with no end date.

When will it all end? When will we get back to normal social interaction? I want to get out there and enjoy life without fear.

Number one reason why you should not talk to the police is that everything you say may be used in your prosecution but never in your defense.

What you say in your defense is only legally "hear say".

Hearsay are statements made by persons outside of the witness chair offered by the defendant to prove the truth or falsity of a fact. As in, “the body the po-lice found is not my dead girlfriend because her momma says she just visiting relatives in Baltimore.”

And not admissible in court.

That is an interesting point. When I started trial work I thought it was a black and white rule. Not admissible. But, it isn’t. Things that are not fairly in dispute are often proven by hearsay. “He’s my second cousin.” How do you know?” “Momma says he is.”

And, declarant not available. “Well, the crossing guard told the cop the light was red.” “Where is he?” “He be dead.”

I just think that aspect is being pooh-poohed by some. It is serious, IMO.

What bothers me is that there are unfriendly eyes in the world who have seen what it takes to bring the USA to its knees. We just showed them.

And an invisible bug is a lot easier than launching missiles at us. Hell, we’ll destroy ourselves.

I have long thought that what we have been doing is like burning down a house to get rid of a spider. For a while, my tagline was:

“This virus may not burn us down. But we may burn ourselves down to be rid of it.”
