Coronavirus: Why everyone was wrong
Back to Reason ^ | July 1, 2020 | Beda M. Stadler

Why everyone was wrong The coronavirus is slowly retreating. What actually happened in the past few weeks? The experts have missed basic connections. The immune response against the virus is much stronger than we thought.

By Beda M Stadler

This is not an accusation, but a ruthless taking stock [of the current situation]. I could slap myself, because I looked at Sars-CoV2- way too long with panic. I am also somewhat annoyed with many of my immunology colleagues who so far have left the discussion about Covid-19 to virologist and epidemiologist. I feel it is time to criticise some of the main and completely wrong public statements about this virus.

Firstly, it was wrong to claim that this virus was novel. Secondly, It was even more wrong to claim that the population would not already have some immunity against this virus. Thirdly, it was the crowning of stupidity to claim that someone could have Covid-19 without any symptoms at all or even to pass the disease along without showing any symptoms whatsoever.

But let’s look at this one by one.

Nobody knows anything about anything. Especially experts.

All through the article there is some invisible mass affecting the course of all the “scientists” reasonings. Suddenly perfectly natural conclusions, assumptions or surmises in famiar circumstances are NOT arrived at.

This is the power of OrangeManBad.

-How do they account for that?-

Human behavior. Its a variable that cannot be measured, controlled or even accurately observed. You can claim anything you want.

And yet they are still only around 700 deaths out of a population of 7 or 8 million in the greater Houston area.

I wonder if higher humidity actually helps spread it. India, Saudi, and Houston are very humid.

not sure what that has to do with the statement:

"So: Sars-Cov-2 isn’t all that new, but merely a seasonal cold virus that mutated and disappears in summer, as all cold viri do — which is what we’re observing globally right now."

It's summer everywhere? Cold season is the same time everywhere?

Thanks for that but it's not summer everywhere...and is cold season the same time everywhere ?

I was commenting specifically about the statement:

"So: Sars-Cov-2 isn’t all that new, but merely a seasonal cold virus that mutated and disappears in summer, as all cold viri do — which is what we’re observing globally right now."

Taiwan had less infections ...75 degrees in April...low 80's in May and high 80's in June\July, than Saudi & India for the same period

”Thanks for that“

My point was that one perhaps should focus on humidity, assuming that it is cold, dry winter days that are conducive to contagion.

Hot summer days can be very humid or very dry, depending on both the place and the particular day. I will look up Houston today.

Most of the people that are testing positive do not have do not have an active disease.

They have remnants of the virus particle in their blood stream that gives a false positive test.
