New York — The New York State Fair will not happen in 2020, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said today.
“That makes me personally very unhappy, but that is where we are,” Cuomo said during a press conference in New York City. “This is a really tough one.”
It has been over 70 years since the last time the fair was canceled. The event didn’t run from 1942 through 1948 because of World War II and its aftermath.

It took him longer to make a decision on closing the State Fair than it did for him to decide to send infected people into nursing homes to kills thousands.
Maybe it is, but the thing is, if enough people like to go and participate and make it viable it’s all good.

So all that livestock that the 4H kids raised for this year’s fair will have been in vain.
yes, lots of this is politically motivated or maybe better said interpreted. Want to no longer hear about Covid-IF Biden wins, it will disappear from the news.
I haven’t been in years either, but the Fair is the highlight if the year around CNY.. I realize for the rest of the state it doesn’t mean much, but around here?
It’s absolutely huge and there are people/vendors who make their entire year’s income from their proceeds of the Fair.
Everything revolves around the Fair those last two weeks of Aug.
Maybe thye should rename it as the Aug/Labor Day Protest?
Then they’d get a pass.
The left is going for anything and everything that means something to mainstream America.
They got Easter canceled, then Memorial Day, they tried with the Fourth but it clea went on without them.
Now the Fair. Anything that’s a tradition that’s part of the fabric of America is under attack.
It’s too bad. Those folks will be hurting. He doesn’t really care for central NY all that much.

And the idiots running Onondaga County tug their forelocks.
Unemployment in NYS is running around 14.5%.
Never see that in the headlines or on TV news.
