A Google bombshell last week gave users a great reason to quit Windows 10. Now serious new problems mean millions of Gmail users might want to join them.
Gmails spam filter is sending possibly perilous messages direct to users inboxes
Reported by both Windows Latest and MSPowerUser, Gmail users are discovering that Microsofts Windows 10 built-in Mail client is deleting their emails and/or sending them to spam automatically.

The greatness of W10’s koolaid just keeps on giving. And the gullible keep on drinking and drinking.
Maybe someone here can tell me why my msn Hotmail account puts every one of my own emails in spam, no matter how many times I mark them “not spam”.
I bc myself for record keeping purposes.
My desktop is Windows 7.
When that dies I’m getting a Mac.
I’m slowly weaning off Gmail to hushmail.

What version of Windows wasn’t susceptible to hacking? Now the father of all versions of Windows wants to tell the world how it should run.
Which is not why you should refrains from using W/10 but instead do not use some its default programs when there are better alternative. For years I have used Thunderbird email client. For browsers Firefox ESR and Quantum portable, Waterfox Classic and Basilisk, etc. For pictures Xnview. For a Word pro Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice. Plus OpenShell, T-clock/ WinPatrol. etc/ Thanks be to God.
Working as intended
Not sure why Microsoft didn’t just keep Windows XP.
I haven’t used a local email client for twenty years.
Better start shopping. Win7 has been out of support since January. You are 100% at risk if you choose to continue using it.
I love how a problem with a competitor's mail service is a Microsoft problem. It never crossed your mind that this could be due to a service change on Google's side? Of course not, because Microsoft is the devil and should be shamed, right? Forget all of the demonstrably evil things Google does. It's Microsoft's problem.
If you use your computer exclusively for web browsing and email, switch to Linux.
Furthermore, use a Virtual Machine (VirtualBox) for your web surfing. At worst, it just messes up your Virtual instance and not the whole computer.
I have a head start to mac even though I have 8.1 disaster. Mac takes a bit of getting used to.
I bought a new Dell that, of course, came with Windows 10. First order of business was to replace Windows with Linux Mint.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!
What if one never uses the mail client in the OS but has used Google Mail separately?
Probably a stupid question but thought I’d ask anyway.
I agree completely. My desktop still runs Windows 7 flawlessly. Windows 10 on my laptop works okay but it is over complicated to find out how to do certain things and, in my opinion, it is one big piece of spyware programming.
There are literally dozens of places where Microsoft noses around in your stuff by default and you have to figure out where they are and how to turn them off.
I use open Office, Corel Draw and irfanview, which is a great little piece of software for pictures. Even though I am I an accomplished user of coreldraw and photo paint I use irfanview view quite a bit. Even though it’s technically free I do donate because I think the author did a great job on it.
I’ve been using Thunderbird on all my machines from the early days. Because I have my own business website / domain my email addresses are on that. I only use my Gmail address for odds and ends and things that I sign up for.
