A car drove onto a closed freeway early Saturday and struck two people in a crowd protesting against police brutality, killing one and critically injuring the other, authorities said.
Summer Taylor, 24, of Seattle died in the evening at Harborview Medical Center, spokesperson Susan Gregg said.

Dawit Kelete of Seattle drove the car around vehicles that were blocking I-5 and sped into the crowd about 1:40 a.m., according to a police report released by the Washington State Patrol. Video taken at the scene by protesters showed people shouting Car! Car! before fleeing the roadway.
Love is in serious condition in the intensive care unit, Harborview, Gregg said.
Love was filming the protest in a nearly two-hour-long Facebook livestream captioned Black Femme March takes I-5 when the video ended abruptly; with about 15 seconds left, shouts of Car! can be heard as the camera starts to shake before screeching tires and the sound of impact are heard.

The driver, who was alone, fled the scene after hitting the protesters, Trooper Chase Van Cleave told The Associated Press. One of the other protesters got in a car and chased the driver for about a mile. He was able to stop him by pulling his car in front of the Jaguar, Van Cleave said.
Troopers arrived, and the driver was put in custody, Washington State Patrol Capt. Ron Mead said.
Kelete was described by offices as reserved and sullen when he was arrested, according to court documents. He also asked if the pedestrians were OK, the documents say.

LOL!!
There's the root cause of our problems right there.
It's illegal for pedestrians to be in the roadway.
Law enforcers should've been enforcing the law, not providing security for the lawbreakers.
All of these current problems have a simple, quick solution.
After looking at those photos it’s easy to understand why the parents have stayed in the background.
Bump
The Darwin Award people had better restock their warehouse. There may be a run.
A clear cut case of fatal stupidity.
Ok
Oh shoot, I think I left the orange juice out on the counter..
“After a month of nonstop protests and criminality, I feel nothing for these people.”
If someone lined them up and shot them I would feel nothing but glee.
This is very sad. I do not celebrate it in any way. My heart is broken for the parents of these children, they are grieving dearly because of it. I understand that they were ‘grown up’ enough to make these stupid decisions. It’s sad that these children were made insane by their teachers and the instigators and the parents who never taught them better. It’s sad that these children were encouraged to put themselves in this dangerous position. The instigators of this ‘protest’ should be hunted down and prosecuted for wrongful death.
And i also feel sad for the driver who now has to live with the image of how he plowed into those children who were pushed into the street by adults that know better!
I'm having trouble working up a lot of sympathy.
Now that it has been learned that the driver was black, the car is blamed.
Who closed the section of the interstate highway? Was it the police or did the protestors themselves place their own vehicles to form a barricade to ATTEMPT to stop anyone else from using the public roadway? If the police did not place the barricade, then the AP article is FAKE NEWS. The AP article wants us to believe that the ATTEMPTED CLOSURE of the interstate was sanctioned by and done by the police. The reporter who wrote the article knew or should have known the facts. If the police did not participate in the closure of the interstate, then the protestors placed themselves in harms way by an act of commission on their part. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes cannot be said enough to these useful idiots. My condolences to the family of the deceased, but she did a foolish thing.
No justice no peace.
Breaks my heart. /s
Time to go “Full Pinochet” on these fu..s.
Apparently the Marxists have been causing problems at that freeway for weeks and the response by local officials was to just close it off rather than force them out. That’s unacceptable and the fact that someone flipped out and did this is not surprising.
You overlook the salient point.
The terrorist j walkers were killed in Seattle, in Washington, not America
The highway was not closed. It was illegally blocked by the anarchist with their cars.
A thought of mine: the officer should have minded his own business and not chased the car , and said the usual "there are no suspects" and "hopes that people at home listening to this description will call with information they may have."
The officer who was cold bloodedly shot to death from a car by the driver who refused to get out due to a license infraction, in today's other thread was doing a thankless job and must have read about the insults and jeers of BLM and CNN but still did his job----and gave his life for that.
This oppositional person who stood illegally on a highway and refused to leave died from that action. The driver would have been pulled out amidst broken glass and beaten to death as another said here. Not worth waiting around to die like that.
