I did a little digging, because I don’t think FLOTUS wears just any ol thing or something without meaning.
The fabric of the dress was taken from an art class. Students and artist Julie Verhoeven did those freehand drawings called “Dancing Girls”. From there, the linen fabric was hand embroidered by the Alexander McQueen staff.
I think they did several dress ideas. This was the best article that I read.
I wonder, I don’t know when the dress was made, but does it signify something related to G Maxwell and justice for the girls who were violated, the children killed at Epstein’s places???
I think it absolutely cruel that all these people have criticized the dress (NOT YOU LJ!) without knowing the backstory. If I were a student and my drawing was embroidered on a dress worn by FLOTUS I’d be thrilled. You know how it is to do those drawings.. you know where you start and don’t lift your pen or pencil up until you are done? And you don’t look at your paper? That’s what they look like to me.
I’ll do some more digging tomorrow. Headache lol.. bedtime for this pupperdoo.

Anything Melania wears automatically becomes beautiful on her. It’s impossible for it to be ugly.
Thank you for the details, much appreciated. I do know that FLOTUS choooses her attire very carefully and often (always?) has meaning. So I figured this dress must have a message, especially considering the occasion. She is such a national asset.
