I just saw our hummingbird at the feeder. Reminds me of this.

Years ago I was taking my daughter to work at Walmart. We walked outside and saw a hummingbird on the ground near the car. I picked it up and put in on our porch because I was worried a cat would get it.

When I came back I went to check on it. It was still out cold. I picked it up and gently rubbed its tiny chest. A few seconds later.....whoosh....off it went. I'll never forget that. It weighed almost nothing.

Oh my goodness - what a precious story!

I once found one in the garage, and it couldn’t find its way out. We caught it and held it for a bit while it caught its breath - such a dear little thing. Then took it out onto the porch and off it went. You’re right - weighed almost nothing. Amazing.
