Michigan State University leaders have successfully pressured Stephen Hsu to resign from his position as vice president of research and innovation after the Graduate Employees Union launched a campaign to oust him from his role. This came after the union, which represents teaching and research assistants, crawled through years of blog posts and interviews Hsu had conducted and criticized him for sharing content on genetic differences among different races.

They had consensus................
File an EOEC lawsuit against the university. Claim racial bias. Shove it back in their faces.
Truth is beside the point.
I would seriously consider studying at a foreign university if I was a student today.

Much easier than that. Michigan State no longer fosters an environment of open exploration and debate necessary for sound academic research and therefore we find the institution is ineligible to receive federal grant money. Present arrangements are hereby terminated for the convenience of the government. Further grant applications will not be received, processed, or awarded until the institution establishes a consistent pattern demonstrating that they have reversed this corrosive and toxic research environment.
I taught in various universities, retiring from a Big 10 university 11 years ago. Way back then, you reported the facts uncovered by your research, regardless of how they fit your political leanings, not punish those who uncover the truth. MSU should be ashamed.
“Liberal” orthodoxy is on the same level as the people of Salem 300 years ago declaring someone a witch because she floated when thrown into a lake. They preach “science”, but practice “dogma”.
Hate facts are not allowed.
You mean they went after him because he is Asian?
Isnt that racist?
Robert Fogel and Stanley Engerman wrote a book titled Time on the Cross, a two-volume series that won them a Nobel Prize in 1993. The thesis of the book was that slaves were economically better off before the Civil War than after it. Book I was the narrative, while book II was the theory and statistics behind the conclusion. My guess is that only us cliometrics grad students read book II.
Fogel came to speak at my university and gave a wonderful talk on the book. After he was done, he fielded questions from the audience. A young black man identified himself as a local reporter, stood up and called Dr. Fogel a racist and a bigot for writing such things. Dr. Fogel asked if he had read either book. The reporter yelled: “I don’t have to read it to know you’re a RACIST!”
At that point, a black lady sitting in the first row stood up and said: “Sit down, Sonny. You have no clue what you’re talking about and I take deep offense about what you are saying about my husband!”
The reporter...crickets.
Its science!
Haha...THAT WAS good
PS...wonder if those books are now banned
This is thought control even worse than Orwell imagined. You have no rights if you think unapproved thoughts.
We can’t have that pesky truth getting out, so kill the messenger.
“In a Time of Universal Deceit Telling the Truth Is a Revolutionary Act”
An excellent quote, even if we don’t know who said it or wrote it.
