A Maryland man who has helped organize 'reopen' protests against measures intended to slow the spread of the coronavirus says he has been sickened with COVID-19.
Tim Walters, a co-founder of the ReOpen Maryland movement, announced this week on social media that he has tested positive.
'I was diagnosed yesterday at the ER with COVID-19 and here I am months after not wearing a mask at rallies, churches and so on and so it's funny how capricious this thing is,' he said in a Facebook video.
Walters, a two-time Republican candidate for the state legislature, helped organize ReOpen Maryland protests in Annapolis, on the Eastern Shore and elsewhere in Maryland demanding that Governor Larry Hogan lift restrictions that were imposed to slow the spread of the virus.

But they won’t make headlines of people protesting to end capitalism and destroy every memory of our Founding Fathers when they get coronavirus.

What the hell are you going to tell someone: “Um, under HIPAA we can’t say who but someone you were near has COVID.”

So what. He had it, and that’s that. They tested a firehouse down here In Jax (because one fireman who had had to go to the doctor for something else had tested positive) and it turned out that all of them had had it...and nobody even knew it.
I thought the original goal was for most of the people to be immunized, either by an eventual vaccine or by having had it. With certain exceptions, not the “elderly” but the already sick elderly with less than a year’s life expectancy and a handful of younger people who had other conditions or no immune systems for other reasons were at risk, but Florida did a good job of protecting those people. So now it’s all just the left lying with statistics.

Reopen MD changed it’s FB format so I’m less clear what events are going on.

I just saw a story on FR about SC BLM protestors with an infection cluster. The virus doesn’t care about politics and doesn’t discriminate.
Liberals politicized the virus when they said you can have a BLM protest but not a Reopen protest. It became cruelly unfair when you could have a BLM protest but not a counter-protest ... or black women arrested for protesting Planned Parenthood on the same weekend.
The politicization of the virus was even more apparent when Democrats decided NOT to track protests as a source of infection. That skews the data and keeps rioters anonymous.
Anyone who has had annual flu shots will probably test positive. DONT TAKE THEM.
