NASCAR just released a photo of the garage pull rope that was fashioned into a noose at Talladega.
Some say that’s a Wood Bros crewmember in the photo. They had that garage stall last October
No different than a fisherman holding up a fish in front of him with extended arms..to make it appear larger than actual size.
interesting catch...but dont think so...here is their driver
and crew
Apparently that whole garage section was just completed last fall — October might have been the first race where they used it.
I mean, it looked like stall 5’s rope had been tied, and someone had untied it.
Do they race in winter?
The garage was new, it could be the October 14 was the first race there. Have there been any other races there? NASCAR got shut down before they started this year.
So do we know if any other car had parked in that garage before this week?
The question is, does it slip or not. Nobody has demonstrated it does, or talked about it doing so, or not doing so.
However, it does appear, although the first picture is harder to see, that the loop in the picture they released today is larger than the one on the door picture in October, which would suggest the loop DOES slip, and that somebody made it bigger.
The key to a noose is that if you pull it through, it unties. If it doesn’t, you did it wrong.
Actually, looking at THAT picture, I am taking back what I said before. That loop IS as big as the one we see on today’s picture; so the loop might not be a sliding loop, and it could well be another knot.
They “missed” it until one guy looked at it, and thought “That is actually something I should be upset about”.
Part of the NASCAR “retraining” is apparently going to be to make sure EVERYBODY who stares at a knot like that says “That is something I should be upset about”
They see the “lack of anybody being upset” as racist.
Nascar said last race was in October. Dont know about other races like Truck etc
Yep, I agree. Noose cut off on 4 and untied on 5.
it hadnt been hanging straight
I think all the race tracks would have undone their noose type pulls once this blew up
so nascar investigation means nothing
going to snoop around and see if that crew member has been identified
someone is going to know what driver he works for
I think October was last race of year for Talladega
Check Wood Brothers pics from Daytona or Homestead where they ran the red/white Motorcraft car. Talladega they ran blue/white Quicklane car. If you look at Daytona pics some of the crew had on those Red/white shirts. You can see part of the Motorcraft and Quicklane on it.
And it was there since 2017.
Good thing no black folk saw that three years ago.
I know Wallace never saw it, so I dont blame him. But Jez, nooses have been around a long time. I used to make a wonderful noose when I was a Boy Scout. The only person threatened by it was my brother. And he aint black.
The race was stopped Sunday because of rain. Duh.
I guess my problem really is, if this photo existed, why did n’t it go viral a week ago? Instead, the knot was cut off, and only NOW do we see this. It IS a noose, but it looks too fresh. The end is not frayed. The knot is photographed in a very dramatic way. No grease. Either this is a threat or it isn’t. 15 FBI agents said no, yet this is clearly a hangman’s noose. (and no, you don’t need thirteen wraps to be a noose).
