The automaker said that it should be able to charge a Mach-E overnight. The word “should” introduces a gamble that no one going cross country is comfortable with. Count me out again.

These cars are suitable as a commuter car or secondary vehicle. Most people going cross-country are going to opt for an SUV or a full-sized luxury sedan, gas powered.

A Tesla roadsters 0-60 is 1.9 seconds. Electric vehicles designed for performance are incredibly efficient, and Im not talking about economy saving efficiencies. Im talking about reducing mechanical power losses and the simplicity if the system. No transmission, no engine, no fuel system, no exhaust system. Just power, motors and wheels.
