Mercer Island, where the Dunhams lived, a hotbed of communists at that time.

Holy shmoley!

I've been posting in festival all morning. I was wondering where everybody was at.

Sheesh.

Relax, dude.
We’ve been here all the time.
Trust the plan.
You were in Festival for a reason.
Or, were you?

PepsiCo. Inc.’s business that sells Aunt Jemima products said it would retire the brand because of its origins in racist imagery of black people, the latest example of how companies are trying to grapple with racial disparities following the killing of George Floyd.

PepisCo’s packaged-foods unit said Wednesday it would remove imagery of the black woman from the Aunt Jemima brand’s pancake mixes, syrups and other products, and change its name. The company didn’t disclose the new name.

..............

So now there are no black faces on supermarket shelves.
I’m not offended by the Quaker man on Quaker Oats, or the little Debbie girl. Or that ugly sketch of Paul Newman. Or the abuelita on cinnamon hot chocolate. I fail to see why blacks are offended by Aunt Jemima.

Short slide story. Apologies in advance. Your post reminded me of something hubby told me about when he lived Oahu back in 1960-1964. He said the native people called him a Haole (which they told him meant White Dog LOL) and he also said they called black folks Popolo. He asked them what it meant and they told him sour, bitter blackberry.

I looked it up just now in the Urban Dictionary.

Ever since the lockdown orders started, and the empty streets shown, I felt that we were living in one of those disaster movies.

Because they are being brow-beat (AKA, bullied) by some septuagenarian, white, politically correct, politicians.
Otherwise known as Globalists.

It would be interesting to see how ^international^ sales of “Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix” and “AJ-syrup” perform and whether there are any complaints from their foreign customers about the depictions on their packaging?

Now hubs is dragging me to cut the Jumanji growing up the side of our house. I must climb ladders today.

I should have my a** beat for planting English ivy against a brick wall. Well it looked cool when the English do it around their castles. Trouble is I don’t have servants to clip the ivy. I just get Jumanji.

Damn it just when I dig good stuff he gets an idea we need to do yard work. Think I found something on (Y)

Be back in a bit.

..Having about 188% of them dispatched during a domestic dispute would do a world of good

May I make a modest suggestion?

Let policemen and social workers live and have M$M do high risk First Responder calls.

After all, they're the absolute best, brightest and most empathetic persons imaginable in any situation, they currently examine in hindsight and present the perfect solution, so it is logical to let them deal with these things in real time.

(And after we run out of M$M, assign politicians and trial lawyers to the duty.)

We’re DOOMED! Toilet plumes is the next crisis.
Portapotties for all!

Flushing toilets creates a plume that can spread virus.

The late Mom Yokel taught me well.
Correspondingly, I blame the other mothers for not teaching their children proper hygienic toilet habits.
Put a lid on it, indeed.

“Put a lid on it.”

Unfortunately that’s not going to stop the fecal bacteria from flooding your bathroom. It sounds gross, but it is effective for herd immunity. Those that believe we are supposed to live in a sterile world are sadly mistaken. If the clean freaks knew about nano-bacteria they’d keel over and die on the spot. Now go out there and get some dirt on your hands and eat a muffin. 45% of statistics show that chubby gardeners live the longest, happiest lives.

Re Toilet plumes:

Agreed. I just hold my breath as I flush.

Meanwhile: ALASKAfags:

A 30-year-old civilian was shot and killed after brandishing a knife at a duty officer and attempting to enter a building on an Alaska military base used by Navy SEALs for cold weather training.
