Its just the flu, bro.
About 400 dead in each of the past two days, which is down from a peak of 2600 about two months ago. Why is opening things up still an issue? Austin Texas is apparently extending its lockdown until 15 August because of some sort of outbreak. They say that 14 new cases in a city over a million is a big deal. The virtue signaling by politicians by extending the lockdown is ridiculous. The media, including Drudge, hyped up any new case/outbreak of it.
And I am sick of fake kids sports - now they let them practice as long as they dont go near each other. This is especially dumb for contact sports.
And the liability waivers are for everything now. A guy sued a girl because she gave him a cold sore on the first date. You can imagine that the frivolous lawsuits related to healthy people getting a mild case of Corona will be coming.
Re: 14 - It’s poor form to mention a FReeper and not ping them when doing so.
Oh yea? Watch this.
Humblegunner eats doody.
You are correct. Autofill got me
Little League resumed in our town last night.
“All life comes to a risk benefit analysis”
THIS ^
Everyone need to evaluate risk to you and others. Then proceed accordingly. If people go into high-risk situations whether it be for COVID-19, walk through a bad part of town, etc, you plan accordingly.
If someone unplanned happens, you adapt. Meaning if you get COVID-19, you accept responsibility for your actions. You don’t blame anyone else, etc. You deal with it and overcome adversity.
The Founding Fathers realized we all have agency. We are responsible for our own actions. What more can we ask - make informed decisions - and motor onward.
Sorry, see Post #9 — Meant for some one else. Posting on phone has its own challenges. I am jealous, I will be working the hospital the next 5 days
I think once HG has a tall glass of prune juice in the morning, he can be tolerable. If not - watch out!
Right you are.
This is posted to one of our resident Fearpers on another thread (Rummy Chick) As this post is to her, I am nost including her on this thread. Obviously this is not meant for you...
This is the problem with how you [Rummy Chick] post. You are very good at false flags. I did not ever say that there would be no transmission among young people. Nor did I ever say that one of them might NOT have a hard time. What I did say was that with this disease, if you are under 65 and in reasonable health, the chances of mortality are small. If you are under 30 the chances are vanishingly small.
The problem with your posts is the same problem with the media. Perhaps you should join CNN or MSNBC as they are excellent at pulling a very rare occurrence, and turning it into an emotional bludgeon.
You also fail to understand that if someone chooses freedom, that means they are absolutely free to do what they see necessary. You think people should not be free to choose.
Finally, you opine Floyds family should be tested. Why? We dont test other asymptomatic diseases that are brief and self limited, even if there are some who are more susceptible (see influenza, does everyone get a flu swab?) Of course not.
There is NOT A SINGLE REASON to test a person with no symptoms. The WHO of all organizations before engaging in a political rollback told the truth asymptomatic spread is rare.
I know you want us all to live in fear. I know you want us all to be governed by your values. There is not a single reason for it. If you want to isolate, please go ahead. If someone else wants to partake in life, I am happy to support that position. I trust people to make their own risk and benefit analysis. I trust the market place to correct unreasonable behaviors.
I put my fundamental faith in the individual and his or her discretion as most people will act in their own best interest. I do not believe any one person should have he right to impose unnecessary restrictions on liberty on any other person. Before you haul off and say what about murder, this is a complete false flag. I will point to the 10 commandments, and the teaching of Faith to demonstrate what should and should not be done. God was the first one to issue Thou Shalt Not ultimatums, and they are time tested and reasonable
The constitution works with our understanding of the faith because the framers point out that our rights are negative rights namely we have them without any affirmative action from any governing body. Our rights are inalienable and given us by God. The constitution limits not me, but the government. The government shall not...abridge the freedom of speech, religion, assembly, arms bearing, quarter soldiers, compel testimony against self, and all the rest.
And yet you wish to impose mandatory testing on people and quarantine them with strong evidence and historical data that would suggest there is absolutely no reason to do this.
But of course, you dont want to answer those questions. So tell us, would you impose mandatory testing on everyone? If people are not tested would you force them to quarantine? If someone violates quarantine, would you arrest them?
At what point does the individual have the right to say no?
But hey, carry on, because a 20 year old who will not die has an infection leads to western civilization ending fear. Once you determine that people can make reasonable judgment and not live under the tyranny of medical law then you too can sing of the land of the free, and home of the brave.
Whats the current mortality rate? Hmmmmm?
Looking at mortality outside of purposefully infected nursing homes in democrat run locales, calling this the flu is greatly overstating the danger of the Wuhan flu.
I used to think it was poor form not to ping freepers when mentioning them. However some have been so incredibly nasty to me and that I no longer feel it necessary to long them when discussing them. People who give no courtesy do not deserve to have courtesy extended
‘Of which probably 60% actually died from the disease’
you are being generous with the 60%...
True but I gave some leeway !!
Yes; one of the first hurdles I encountered in searching for 'Tasha' was that (unidentified) pic of Gupta. I saved it to a file with a question mark. Thanks.
The pic I did find of Tasha was on her personnel file - since deleted when they realized it had been found.
Ditto.
A great post, and one with which I agree.
Enough of the fear - the real enemy is the DNC and their affiliates, trying to use this virus to impose tyranny on us (when they’re not rioting and destroying peoples means of earning a living).
the humble one has friends - spies, if you will. :)
The threads have ears...
