Walmart will stop putting ‘multicultural’ products in locked cases
cnbc ^

Posted on 06/10/2020 5:51:48 PM PDT by Red in Blue PA

Walmart will no longer place “multicultural hair care and beauty products” in locked cases in any of its stores, the company confirmed Wednesday.

The practice, which Walmart says was only in place “in about a dozen” of its 4,700 U.S. stores, has received criticism for the implication that the customers who buy these products, largely people of color, can’t be trusted. The cases must be unlocked by a store associate, and the products are usually then taken to the front of the store for purchase.

What does it matter even if they steal all of the products? With no police, who is going to stop anyone from stealing?

Many places let criminals go without bail due to unfairness of the old system. Others have people suspicious of police or outright hostile to them and ready to pounce on any element of an arrest that seems racist or harsh.

Due to Covid concerns, thousands of convicted prisoners are let out of prisons. Wal Mart not locking up valuable small items any more. One or more police stations burned and not replaced.

Some looted stores ("hundreds" in NYC one night alone) did not have anyone challenging the looters all night. Police budgets gutted or totally defunded. One area has Antifa banning police.

This is the golden age of crime.

Somewhere gangsters of the Untouchables era and later are saying "I was born too soon. Darn."

Watch for that shelf being always empty...and to get those items you must ask.

Why? A business should be taxed on profits. Revenue less expenses. Theft is an expense like any other.

Having an item that cost Wally say $10 is worth $4 as a tax deduction. A tax deduction of $4 is not worth a loss of $10.

Wally will not gladly endure these loses.

That’s exactly how this will be handled. At the Supermarket they lock up the expensive baby formula stuff. But that equally impacts all, I guess. So they’re SOL in getting that case unlocked.

Seattle has not changed their views? I want to reply to these emails I’m getting from businesses and it says do not reply... emails will not be read. I’m getting hot about these places joining in with taking over America and using my money and my business to keep them going.. all of our money and all our buying ...

when do they.. educated enough to be CEO’s and not smart enough to see that blm and the terrorists are working together.. how long and how much stupidity!!

Walmart also locks up AirPods.

Today, I found that out while purchasing a pair.

I want in on your lawsuit.

Seriously, almost every electronic item was locked away.

At corporate HQ, Walmart is able to track shrinkage store by store, product by product.

The products at the top of the list will no longer be carried.

The stores at the top of the list will be closed.

There will be no announcement—it will all be done very quietly.

Just close the damn store already. We ALL know why they’re in locked cases and I don’t give a flaming fig about your racial sensitivities.

“The practice, which Walmart says was only in place “in about a dozen””

the easiest solution in those 12 stores is just to quit carrying such products ...

That is such a silly statement. Shrinkage is a normal cost for all retail businesses and for some is recorded as an expense or can be recorded as just less revenue. Most shrinkage actually occurs via employees. There is no "rule" that it is deductible per se other than it is reflected in the income statement as less net profit. You want to punish every retail business because of one Walmart gesture?

Also, to let you know, it is almost impossible to determine the exact amount stolen because of the way things are done now. Most retail operations pay based on what they sold via scan. For example, a Campbell's soup can may be misread by the scanner and recorded as a candy bar because the store's database of scanned codes are incorrect; or the scanned codes do not work and the register operator records it as a general purchase. The store will only pay to Campbell's the amount they scan. All companies take a loss because nothing works perfectly every single time My company knows how many widgets are sent to every single store across the country. When a specific store has a high shrinkage, we will send someone to that store to investigate and often it is because of an incorrect code and sometimes it is because the code is not in the store's database because it is a new product.

So there is really no way to determine the actual amount stolen because technology and human error causes shrinkage.

If Walmart is bent on proving their multiculturalism, then, they will fear leaving the cities and states where their stores were attacked and destroyed and looted.

The computer program won’t give a flying f&^% where the store is or who shops there.

In other words, it is racist! :-(
