On Wednesday, citing two grandfathers who fought in World War II, New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees said that even in wake of the death of African American George Floyd, an incident in which a former Minneapolis police officer is facing second-degree murder charges, he opposed any player kneeling during the pregame national anthem. “I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country,” Brees told Yahoo Finance’s Daniel Roberts. He was immediately ripped by teammates, opponents, other athletes, entertainers and even plenty of fans. By Thursday, Brees apologized.

The NFL can go “F” itself.
At this point, I’d as soon watch gay porn as the NFL.
It isn’t mandatory for me to watch.
I read that brees apologized for say it. Coward!
I’ve already discovered a solution - don’t watch if they’re going to do that stuff.
There is no NFL this year. Too bad so sad.
Tear down the football stadiums. The cities don’t need them and don’t get anything from them but the bills.

Drew hasn’t figured out that if you grovel to the mob you just insure that NOBODY respects you.
I gave up the NFL and have gone deep into synchronized ribbon twirling.
Our military should not conduct any flyovers, any colors presentations, or any other demonstrations at any NFL event.
As long as the NFL promotes or condones anti-patriotic behavior, our military should have nothing to do with them.
I won’t be watching, but I think the NFL should stop having the National Anthem before games. They are not worthy of it. It just gives the prima donna players and performers a platform for their misplaced “protest”. Don’t give it to them. Also, I am disappointed in Drew Brees. For apologizing.

In the end, you will always kneel.
Everybody in stadium will be pressured to kneel. And they will.
He’s a coward. At this point, nothing is happening “in the heat of the moment”. Figure out how you feel. You should have a position and you should hold that position. Keep it to yourself if you want. But if you have an interview with Yahoo and tell them your position, you can’t be a complete wimp and do a 180 just a day or two later. No guts at all.
Ironic the mandatory submission involves kneeling.
Brees kneeled down, the f-—ng coward.
And, at first, I didn't watch any games. But, slowly, I began watching a game here and there. And, by the time the playoffs rolled around, I was watching every game and, by the next season, I had forgotten all about my little boycott.
This time, though, I really, really, REALLY mean it.
There's nothing The NFL to quell those who hate this country. The only thing it can do to prevent the kneeling is to not play The National Anthem.
Maybe empty stadiums will make a difference but I doubt that will happen because there are too many people like the old me out there.
