The game plan here is to leave the District defenseless before the onslaught of one million people whose mission is to trash the nation's capital and burn it to the ground. This would force the movement of the capital to a military base somewhere in the interior, such as Nebraska.

This would delegitimize the national government in the eyes of the world and in the eyes of most Americans. The headlines would be, "Trump flees to the hinterland! America's Glorious Revolution!" There would be a full court press on the part of the media to give Trump the bum's rush out of office "for the sake of peace and American unity," with a substantial part of the military in support of the effort.

The mayor is a part of the attempted coup which I suspect is scheduled for this weekend.
