Special Counsel Robert Muellers office deceived the country and a federal court about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynns late-December 2016 conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Now, more than three years later, Americans are only first learning about that deception thanks to the release of recently declassified transcripts of the calls.
Newly confirmed Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Friday shared with congressional oversight committees the summaries and transcripts of intercepted communications between Flynn and Kislyak. The move followed former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenells decision to declassify nearly all portions of the Flynn-Kislyak telephone conversations from late 2016 and early 2017.
The transcripts prove a treasure trove of evidence of the Deep States plot to frame Flynn, who pleaded guilty Dec. 1, 2017, to making false statements to FBI agents Peter Strzok and Joe Pientka during a Jan. 24, 2017 interview of Flynn. In a Statement of Offense filed that same day with the D.C. District Court, federal prosecutor and Mueller team member Brandon Van Grack stipulate[d] and agree[d] that the facts detailed in the Statement of Offense were true and accurate.

Yet Barry was allowed to jet set around the world prior to his coronation to the Presidency and make untold promises to every country in the world
Three years for the transcript to come out because it was classified for national security. And there is not a single word in that transcript worthy of classification.
Congress (well, at least the Senate) had better find out who — and why — that document was needlessly classified and lied about.
Muellers team surely knew that the distinction between sanctions and expulsions mattered when it came to Flynn and his conversation with the FBI agents because shortly after Strzok and Pientka questioned Flynn, Flynn publicly refuted media reports that he had discussed sanctions with Russia. I had a brief discussion of the 35 Russian diplomats who were being expelled by Obama in retaliation for Moscows alleged interference in the 2016 campaign. It wasnt about sanctions. It was about the 35 guys who were thrown out, Flynn stated.
We now know Flynn was telling the truth and Muellers team was lying both to the court and to America. The Department of Justice is seeking to right that wrong, at least to the extent possible, by dismissing the criminal charge against the retired lieutenant general.
I've been following the case since day 1 and I'll be honest when I read the transcript I was disheartened. I thought that the distinction between "sanctions" and "expulsions" was splitting hairs. But WOW. This Flynn quote shows that in FLYNN'S mind, there was a real difference between sanctions and expulsions.
This explains exactly why the FBI agents would have thought he wasn't being deceitful. Because he genuinely believed he was telling the truth. And he was! He was being accurate about a distinction that mattered to him.
It may even be that McCabe and crew didn't understand the distinction until later, so maybe they initially really did think he was lying.
But the rest of the article clearly shows that they must have figured out the truth at some point, which is why they refused to reveal the transcript, even after a court ordered it.
Very big WOW here.
