Chet Angel, neighbors , heard lightening hit close by. I slept through the storm. Woke up and went outside. Checked rain gage. Over an inch! Paul came out on porch of cabin and commented on how heavy it was I was surprised. Must have been sleeping soundly.
Transplanted four little marigold and asked Paul if he smelled something burning. Went to front door and could see the flames shooting out of den where I had been sleeping. About five feet high. Purse was on other side of flames. I had Paul’s old white T shirt, garden shoes and a pair of work pants I got at Good Will. No teeth.
It was just that quick. I could have easily slept through the fire too. Praising God I woke up.
Am counting blessing. “It is well with my soul.” ALL Your posts,love & prayers have brought comfort. But obviously am still in shock and couldn’t sleep all night. Sick about some of the family picture and books that can’t be replaced. And my paintings. Guess I’ll have to buy some art supplies and create more. Still hoping that fur babies left when I did and are hiding in the woods
Today we start again. God is Good!
