Subsidiarity is an organizing principle that matters ought to be handled by the smallest, lowest or least centralized competent authority. Political decisions should be taken at a local level if possible, rather than by a central authority.
The Left is the party of the state, the party of centralized power and the party of centralized ideology. All the ideas they implement are about this, and this is what is destroying America.
With your history, I am sure that you are alarmed with what you see now in the USA. Many of us have been aware and have watched the decline over the years. This decline was interrupted by Reagan and again by Trump. But I fear the swamp is too deep and the public uneducated for things to change.

You’re doing it right now. Tell your story. And pay no attention to the nattering nabobs of negativism. They are not worth responding to and they sap your energy.
Your testimony should carry a lot of weight, since you’ve experienced the horrors of communism first-hand. Unfortunately, the Left isn’t rational. Its disciples don’t listen to experience. They continue to embrace an ideology that is the most destructive the world has ever seen. And so it is in America these days. They’re not going to stop unless we stop them. We can fight them for a while at the ballot box. But not forever. So we need to keep spreading the word and hoping our fellow citizens wake up and our politicians are held to account.

Educate yourself so as to be able to explain what is happening. The Hillsdale online free courses on the Constitution and progressivism, are an excellent resource.
Communicate these ideas with others, on freerepublic, elsewere on line, in comments on articles where you can.
The Left's biggest weapon is controlling the narrative through the media. We need to continue to take that from them.
We are much better off in that regard than we were 25 years ago.
Do not accept the premises and narratives fed to you by the Media.
Join a local group, Republican, Tea Party, Church, or gun club. Discuss with others. Make friends and connections.
Be politically active, more than voting. Help get out the vote. Volunteer. Be a precinct committeeman or woman.

PS If he thinks his voters are going to be allowed to vote in November, other than through corrupt mail-in practices, IMO he is deluded.

These people are not people who can be reasoned with. They are not fair-minded or tolorant of others opinions. They will use Violence as soon as or whenever they can.

What we are witnessing on television is a very small group of people being allowed to commit crimes and mayhem by weak leaders. The media magnifies the impact much as they do with hurricane coverage so that it fills everyone with a sense of dread. People use the protests to try and paint a different picture of our country.
This is not representative of America and the vast majority of Americans want order, peace, and prosperity. The mob just wants excitement and free stuff. The media wants a big story. The left wants to push a narrative that we are a racist nation. The rest of us are left bewildered by it all.
It has happened before and it will happen again FRiend, but remember that it is a made to look much larger than it really is. I think the adults are about to take over and end it.
A bunch of Communists invaded and destroyed the country of your birth, so you came here to live as a good American. Unfortunately, the demonic Communists didn’t want just Cuba; they wanted to destroy America, no easy task. But they took the long approach and slowly dominated the university system, the media, the movies, the music, the culture, the schoolhouses, and more. Millions upon millions of baby Americans died violently but silently as a culture of death overtook America. Free speech slowly withered even as noise freely proliferated; leftism and its constellation of heresies dominate the discourse, and rational thought took refuge in the churches, outside which normal people dared not speak the simple truths, even those incontrovertible a mere decade ago.
This year, the war is on. Impeachment failed. So the leftists tried the coronavirus hysteria, terminated a third of the American economy (but almost none of the public sector), disregarded the Bill of Rights, closed the churches, sewed misery, and blamed Trump. That apparently wasn’t enough, so now the Biden rally moved onward to massive property destruction. This Communist insurrection takeover probably will escalate much further before the election.
We might not survive. Make plans now. Go to confession where and when you still can. Try to live in heroic virtue. Hundreds of millions of persons all across the world lost their lives to the Communists in the previous century; tens of millions more gave their lives as a witness, a martyr, to the Love of God in Christ Jesus. The time soon may come that we join them.
But if you are an adult citizen and otherwise not disqualified, register (if necessary) and vote in November. Vote Trump; save lives. Trump still opposes Communism, he opposes killing babies, he opposes the violence of the Biden rallies. If he doesn’t make it, then vote Pence. If neither are on the ballot, then at least vote Republican. If no Republicans make the ballot, then just vote against all Democrats, Socialists, and Communists and for some other candidate. And pray for America, because if this country falls, then I know not what other refuge yet may survive against the transnational Communist insurgency. Maybe Poland? Perhaps Cuba, ironically?
Work with groups that oppose immigration both legal and illegal. For everyone like you that immigrates to this country there are seven or eight that will end up voting democrat. My parents fled communism to start over in America. They too, were very grateful for the opportunity to live in liberty. The first ‘luxury’ my dad saved up for was a rifle. He was denied the right to own a firearm or to go hunting during WWII under the Nazi’s and then under the communists. My mother likens what we are experiencing to 1930’s Europe. The subversive leftist activity is very familiar to her - as it is to you. Welcome. We need people like you.
